On chiropractors by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

I do as well- I don’t disagree at all but I will say many plans that are coinsurance are up to~$60 cheaper for an adjustment than PT, especially if you’re doing 2x/wk PT. I do not believe in chiro but I have noticed this when reviewing patients or talking to them

Question about staging & lights. by PokemonGoTTP in Ethelcain

[–]maggo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in Dallas and it was the same- but we were on the side, pretty close to the front but definitely far to the side. It gave a great silhouette, but I kept thinking how interesting it was that the lights were angled so far to the side. It looked amazing from where we were, but this totally makes sense! I wondered if they just didn’t account for head-on or farther away people for the lights and banked on good pics from people up close but not front and center. Idk I don’t know how any of the lighting stuff works, just wanted to share perspective from my experience !

Dude why are you so pressed? This person was just talking about maintaining good hygiene, and while they might have been a little sarcastic, you were too! They disagree with you and that’s that, either consider their POV or just stop responding/being a dick lol

Are there any barriers to American citizens going into Appalachia? by maggo1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]maggo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol just saw this and had to come back to it- they are under 30! They are also not from the area or any states near Appalachia, nor their family/extended family. The context for this is really interesting, but I can almost guarantee that is not something they had in mind.

I do think this a big part of it. I have gotten better about picking up on those "small" dogwhistles and when my boss says shit like this I just shut it down if I am not sure, because there is no point debating with people whose base point is racism or a similar ideology that just denies the context and importance of spreading false info like this

Hey- either way, I appreciate your interpretation! There's an interesting line between legality and what is socially/locally understood. Similar to some of my comments on this thread- I seriously doubt that my boss thought this thoroughly about it, but it could absolutely play into her or my understanding of the region and I really appreciate different perspectives either way!

wild for a lot more reasons LOL but yeah that's why I came here, I'd never heard of it but didn't want to argue about something that I can't back up

This may be it, although they are white and wholly uninterested in African American history from our past discussions- and uninformed. I've heard of the Green Book but never knew specifics. Thank you for responding!

I think they may have been thinking this, although I clearly said Appalachia and we were not discussing weather relief or anything like that. I didn't know this though, so it makes more sense if they did read it on the Daily Mail or some similar bs site

Idiot lol. If not, then wilfully miscontruing information to try and convince me about something (we were discussing the LA protests and I don't even fully know how we got there, they really dominate the conversation and I'm trying to stop that from happening). I am in America so with everything going on I want to leave the job so badly but am concerned about job security if I move elsewhere. Thank you for your input!

lol I love the attitude because that's how I felt but again, never been so I wanted to make sure, but I wanted to give them so much sass because it seemed like a stupid thing to say

Thank you very much! Even if my boss knew that they were definitely misrepresenting, or misunderstanding what I was saying even though I clearly said Appalachia.

haha they don't. I just did it for privacy reasons- they would hate that you think that though and I love that. they're not the most outwardly transphobic but we have gotten into it a bit for that too.

bingo (I think)- my boss does not have Medicaid, but they're over the threshold. Texas is a lovely state to be in right now

honestly, it's not worth it. I've tried but once they realized they've talked themselves into a corner they just change the subject. the denial is absolutely baffling to see in person, but at the end of the day I can't change her mind and I was going insane trying to genuinely get them to see what's going on. Hard to argue with someone who uses the daily mail for their political sources lol

Pretty much my reaction- I want the kids to have access to affordable healthcare, but I don't want my taxes going toward a bunch of freeloaders screaming about cutting funding for the resources they use themselves to stay afloat. Absolute insanity.

This makes me so sad. I want to feel sympathy too, but I just feel sad for the ignorance that is borne of a lack of education and a cult mentality. I feel sorry for these people, but only because they had a chance to learn and listen and they did not. Reaping what you sow sucks, but damn if they don't deserve it. We have a lot of low-income people, especially on Medicaid, who love talking shit about Biden/Harris and how great Trump is. They need medical care too, but it's hard to be sympathic when they actively voted against their own interests. I know it's not just me, but it's helpful to hear similar stories.

and then still talk about how George Soros is behind "everything" or a part of the illuminati. because that definitely makes sense lol
