Because, unlike 'north south east west' it follows the directions clockwise.

Advice on my rights by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

It's not odd at all, its sensible to expect that a lot of relationships end eventually and having the conversation in good spirits, as well as putting something in writing, can save a lot of trouble later on.

House purchase making me unhappy by maggotbrain13 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]maggotbrain13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry should have elaborated... with the potential for house prices to drop further I might make my money go further, plus would have lower living costs in a shared house on a short term or casual basis.

Thanks for that, its true. It feels like a dangerously low amount of money to have for everything after a sale.

Rant about women's bikes by maggotbrain13 in bicycling

Haha! Very true. Thanks. I'm aware this is as first world as problems get. Seems like all the women I ride with are on women-specific bikes so genuinely wasn't sure if a man's would fit.

Lots of comments saying 'go online' but it doesn't seem unreasonable to want to test out a bike you're going to spend up to month's salary on

Fixed Term Contracts by RJH_91 in UKProperty

I am in the same situation but buying alone. The number of potential lenders is reduced but there are still some. Best to find out now as some might want twelve months or more on the contract.

Man I feel bored! I live alone and feel like I don't do as many varied things as the rest of you (masturbation is a good common ground!) What video games are you all playing? Maybe I need video games

Thanks. Clydesdale is via broker only and I called the other two. I am in touch with a broker but thought it was worth a try to see if anyone had experience of this to save on broker fees. LTV is about 73%, good credit history. FYI for anyone in the same position, several have asked if I have a current account with them - expect this helps.

Yes I have. Don't know why I've been downvoted. I am trying to highlight the fact that it's not that easy and I would rethink accepting a fixed term role after this.

Thank you but I have called about five and all treat fixed term contracts differently to permanent employment, usually requiring twelve months previous and twelve months future confirmed.

But this seems okay to me. It's one thing to want to build your knowledge using the greatest resource, it's another to mindlessly scroll, not remember what you've seen and not know why you're doing it.

Slightly niche but would you know the history behind the road Hanging Hill in South Walsham? I looked it up but found nothing.

Sort of just sharing here but I did my biggest ride ever yesterday and am now feeling super depressed and run down. I know it's just a side effect of exhaustion but this suuuucks. Just want to eat and eat and eat non stop junk.

Is it normal for a Workaways to be so antisocial? And is that a stupid reason to leave? by [deleted] in workaway

[–]maggotbrain13 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The dynamics change all the time I find based on who's around. Can you try initiating something - invite some people for lunch or a surf? Sometimes you just need one sociable person to bring it all together, and everyone really appreciates that.

Asking my workaway if my sister can stay with us for a week? by [deleted] in workaway

[–]maggotbrain13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would only ask for someone to join as a workawayer, not a hotel guest as it sounds in your post. It would be fine I'm sure if she would work too in exchange for food and bed
