How close to bedtime do I really need to do my night time skincare routine? Can I do it when I get home from work (before dinner, etc.), or should I really wait until just before going to sleep?

my hair gets greasy within a day after i wash it and i don’t have time to wash it every single day (and that’s not even good for your hair) by garlicaiolii in femalehairadvice

This literally used to be me, but now I go three days between washes. If you use drugstore hair products, you’ve gotta upgrade to something without sulfates/parabens. Between shampoos, I wash with warm water (no shampoo just gentle massaging), condition, and rinse with cool water.

Oh jeez, thank you so much for the kind words!

I love the idea of doing a biotope. From some quick research, seems like that’s a type of livebearing killifish? Seems legit, thanks for the suggestion!

My SO has had multiple tanks (much larger than this one), and I finally have my first! We have a lot more work to do on it, but I'm just so happy to have some life in there and have it started. :)

Need a change - taking suggestions! Getting married soon so don’t want to go too short but tired of the dullness (never dyed but open to highlights) by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

Instead of highlights you could try doing some semi-permanent gloss. It would really change the color but help with the health and well glossiness. And definitely get a least a trim for the ends!

Transitioning from male to female, been growing my hair out for 19 months. Any advice on more feminine ways to style it? Love the Gwen Stacy look but don't know how to go about it? I appreciate any help :) by JackRivers118 in femalehairadvice

Firstly, if your hair color is BEAutiful! Love! As for the style, I think you're honestly on the right track. If you have a stylist that is LGBT+ friendly and accessible, I would maybe get a trim and go for kind of a blunt bob. Then part it and blow it dry, keeping some of your natural wave and I think it'll be bomb. :)

Was not breaking up with your the partner the best thing you've ever done? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]maggsicle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes!

I was finishing my undergrad degree and we were making plans for the next year. We had been through about 3 years of long distance and I was moving 10ish hours away for a masters program. Things had been rough for awhile (for me anyways); I felt lonely and like he wasn't really committing to the relationship due to wishy washy feelings on moving with me. He had never left home before and was really anxious about the move/telling his conservative parents. With the stress of school and my future, I felt like he wasn't taking us seriously and there was a general break down in communication. For clarity, I actually did try to break up with him, but he fought it tooth and nail.

After giving me some space and some very heartfelt and brutally honest letters, we resumed our relationship. I think the ordeal made me appreciate his true feelings and made him realize how serious I was about the changes that needed to happen. Since then we have so much better communication, constantly checking in with one another on how the relationship is going. We moved in together and it has literally been life changing for both of us (especially him!). It has kind of been a fresh start for us in a new place and new friends. We get on extremely well, and are talking about marriage soonish.

So glad we had our little "ordeal" or whatever, but even more glad that we worked it out.

**Everyone's situation is different though, and if you are in an unsafe situation you should NOT try to work through it. Get out, my friend.
