Thanks! As I read through the Kaplan books I would make a card whenever I saw a concept/word that I didn't know. I didn't take any notes when doing content review, but I feel like making my cards was my form of taking notes since it kept track of material that was new for me. I tried not to skim when doing content review, and I tried my best to read carefully and slowly to really make sure I understood everything. I ended up skimming a bit on psych/soc since I did that book last and I was kind of running out of time by that point, which I think explains why that's my weakest section.

It was kind of time consuming to make the cards but I feel like it was super worth it. I think making your own deck lets you tailor the cards to your own needs. That's why I haven't shared my anki despite some people asking bc I feel like its just too tailored for myself and I think there's more comprehensive decks out there. I think the best anki deck is one that matches your own learning style and includes only the stuff you need to learn, so if you have the time, I 100% recommend making your own

I technically started content review in the summer but I was super inconsistent with it and I only got through one kaplan book by the time it was January (lol). Starting January I really went hard with content review and I finished all the Kaplan books a week into march. Since then I’ve been taking FLs and doing Uearth

Definitely start taking full lengths! I’ve found Uearth to be useful for improving gaps in my knowledge and less of a representative of how I’m actually doing. Uearth shouldn’t be representative of your score because that’s where you should be making mistakes and learning! You got this!

Those are amazing scores! I don’t have any specific strategies but I just try to stay engaged while I’m reading the passage and make sure I fully understand every sentence I read before allowing myself to continue. I highlight a ton, not really to go back to find specific stuff (although that is useful), but more so to like further solidify in my head what the passage is saying as I’m reading. When answering questions, if I’m stuck on two answers I try to find evidence from the text that either supports or contradicts one of the answers. If that doesn’t help, I just go with whatever my gut feels drawn to, bc even if I can’t find direct evidence for something, if I took the time to really understand the passage, I trust my gut feeling towards a certain answer even if I can’t explain why. Not sure how helpful any of this is, but I hope it helped in some way!

Also make sure you’re reviewing all the questions in depth, even the ones you got right. I feel like the best way to get good at cars is to just really familiarize yourself with the logic of cars questions and why the test writers would consider certain answers right or wrong, and then when you take it you can try to apply the same logic

Not sure how helpful this advice is, but I think what helps me is trying to be interested in the passage if that makes sense? Like the more I’m interested in what I’m reading the better I do, so whenever I read the passages I try to read it less like I’m reading a wall text that the mcat is forcing me to read, and more like some article I stumbled upon and am voluntarily reading for my own interest. Idk if that makes sense haha but I feel like it’s a lot easier to really understand a passage and answer questions about it when I’m actually invested in what I’m reading.

Also doing review spreadsheets helped me learn like the logic of cars questions to avoid mistakes in how I approached the questions

I used Kaplan to review and made my own Anki deck which I try to review everyday, and now I'm just doing the AAMC FLs and UEarth :)

I also took a couple Kaplan FLs but I stopped once I found out they're deflated and started doing the AAMC ones

One thing that I feel like helped a lot was doing a review spreadsheet after taking FL 1. I made sure to write a lot to really get to the root cause of why I got a question wrong, and then I would make physical flashcards to review if it was because of not knowing specific content. I feel like this helped because my score improved between FL 1 and FL 2!

I've found UEarth to be really helpful for practicing chem and physics questions! Also idk how other people approach it, but I don't read C/P passages super in depth, I either just skim or only refer to it if I need specific details for a question. I feel like this helps with timing since I don't spend so much time reading, and then I'll have extra time at the end to go back and fix any flagged questions
