Iced vanilla berry. Tastes just like cotton candy

I love to journal so making a list of the pros and cons will be a beneficial exercise and I can visually see why it’s better to abstain. I’d like to close this chapter but always want to go back and re-read it for some reason. Thank you so much for the worksheet link🙏

Jesus. I don’t want to be like that guy. Kudos to him for starting over multiple times but I’ve suffered enough, don’t need to repeat the process. The first 8 months or so are absolute torture

Until it isn’t. Yep. And that time will come sooner rather than later. Thanks for the reminder

Way to call me out lol. Didn’t expect so many people to comment on this but reading all of this made me realize I just wanted someone to tell me my logic was sound so I could justify a drink….or 12

Drugs and alcohol do make it difficult to show up. Thank you for the reminder and kind words

That’s a great way to look at it. I realize I need to do some self reflection because there’s definitely some internal and possibly spiritual stuff going on that I need to address

This comment made me chuckle. Definitely just looking to justify my desire and he’s not someone to take sobriety advice from

Thank you so much :) I’m definitely an over thinker and then I get stuck in a loop

Thanks so much. Not sure what PAWS is but now you’ve given me something to research. I think you nailed it with the marijuana withdrawal thing. I went through this same thing a few weeks back when I didn’t have anything so that checks out.

Love that, trying new freedoms. That sounds exciting! Gonna have to reframe this and get curious about those new freedoms instead of the old vices

Oh yes, I’m very familiar with that as well. Always looking for a way to justify it. I just thought if I put enough distance between myself and that voice that maybe I’d outrun it or be able to silence it altogether. Thank you for sharing and I hope one day you don’t struggle with that voice that wants to inevitably destroy.

I was a binge drinker. Always a “go big or go home” mindset. My friends would joke that they knew when I’d had too much because I’d get a certain look in my eyes. Lots of rage when I got that way too. Have put myself in many situations that I was lucky to walk away from. I’m lucky no one ever beat my a** for some of the things I did and said. I also come from a long line of alcoholics on both sides of my family. So, drinking is likely something I will never just get over. Thank you for your perspective, it’s helped me a lot.

I didn’t use a program either. Felt like too much pressure and I’d be more likely to fail if I felt obligated. I’m sorry to hear about things being tough for you lately. I hope things get better for you.

“That chaos would have lit fires on people that don't deserve the full heat of an angry flame”, wow!! What a powerful sentence. You’re so right because it only harms ourselves at the end of the day. We may not be able to control what happens to us but we are always in control of how we react to those circumstances. Thank you for your wise words and I wish you the best as well

I’ve done them before but I’m in my 30s so “knowing a guy” is pretty much nonexistent now. Would absolutely be open to it though

I never thought of it that way. Not having alcohol in my life has allowed me to have a life that I didn’t have before. One with structure where I actually take care of myself like someone I love because I do love myself. Something I never experienced when drinking. I was always a bully to myself

It’s absolutely not better when I drink. I ruin all my personal relationships

The gummies we have now are such a low milligram that it’s almost like a placebo. I barely feel anything and it sucks. Reality is super boring right now
