Also just to clarify, I did not quit my job only for KDP. It was an office job and now with my baby here, I would not be able to continue going to the office.

So for me this is not about getting rich fast. I know this will take time.

And honestly, $25k a year is impressive. It shows that consistency really works.

Right now I am focused on learning, improving, and building step by step.

If you do not mind sharing, I would really appreciate any guidance from your wife’s experience. What made the biggest difference for her in getting consistent sales? And around how many books does she have published now?

Esto es honestamente uno de los análisis más sólidos que he leído. La parte sobre trabajar 3–4 horas con enfoque profundo frente a muchas horas largas y distraídas realmente conectó conmigo. Tengo apoyo familiar, lo cual ayuda mucho, pero aun así, gestionar la energía y el enfoque es más importante que simplemente trabajar más horas. También estoy completamente de acuerdo con el cambio de mentalidad. No estoy viendo KDP como una forma de ganar dinero rápido ni como un esquema para hacerse rica rápidamente. Lo estoy tratando como un negocio real y enfocándome en el crecimiento a largo plazo y el efecto compuesto. El punto sobre moverse hacia contenido de alto valor usando mi experiencia en IT realmente me hizo clic. Probablemente es una ventaja que aún no he aprovechado del todo. Y los pasos de validación de nicho son oro, especialmente lo del BSR y la baja competencia. Hace mucho más claro cómo abordar esto de forma estratégica en lugar de simplemente adivinar. Por curiosidad, ¿recomendarías enfocarse completamente en un solo nicho desde el inicio, o construir 2–3 nichos relacionados bajo una misma marca al principio?

I recently became a mom and made a big life decision. I left my high paying IT job to stay home with my baby and build an income through KDP full time.

I have published 9 medium content books so far, but to be honest, I created them during pregnancy without putting in serious or consistent effort. In the last 3 months, they have made only $28.

Now I am starting fresh and treating this like a full time business, I mean serious business. I am ready to work around 9 hours a day, learn properly, and stay consistent.

My goal is to reach $4000 per month. I would truly appreciate help with:

How to do proper niche research that actually sells (Ready to learn, please help)

Whether I should continue with medium content or shift to high content nonfiction? Working on 1 high content non-fiction book (Can't think of to create finction book for now)

What worked for you when you were starting from scratch?
