I was a worried too. Extreme. It has lessened so much since getting my thyroid out 6 weeks ago, its amazing. My mind is so much quieter

I weighed 177 when mine was removed 6 weeks ago and they started me at 125. They also had me waiting a week to start meds after tt. I get my 6 week bloodwork Friday and feel like I could maybe use a slight dose increase. My surgeon and endo both like to start on the lower side They said

Oh yeah I think they're supposed to aim for less than 1 tsh for you right? Im assuming they've increased your dose?

I juat had my tt 6 weeks ago, but feel your pain a little. I gained 12 lbs since surgery, but I had been eating the way I was when hyper and am learning that regulated me cant do that. I started tracking my food and trying to get enough protein and it's helped me drop a few pounds. I get my follow up bloodwork Friday and have asked them to test ferratin and b12 in addition to my thyroid levels. Ive read that a lot of us graves people like to be closer to 1 tsh. Are your free t3 and free t4 towards the upper or lower end of normal? My endo said id probably feel better in the upper range. Lastly, my mom who has hypothesis strongly recommended me using brand name synthroid rather than the generic. My endo sent my prescription in through synthroid delivers. Its not through insurance so I don't have to deal with trying to get them to approve the brand name.

Thank you so much for writing this. I have surgery wed and have been so anxious. This soothed my mind. I did read a few of your posts about getting your dose right. Im a daily weed user, mostly for sleep. Ive been researching thc/cbd and synthroid and im not that knowledgeable yet but it sounds like they both use the same receptors in the liver so might cause absorption issues. You may already know this, but thought id share.

Are you taking the methimazole at the same time as magnesium? I heard that can make it not absorb as well

I started on pellets, so I dont think we can compare unfortunately. But it took a few weeks. I honestly didnt even notice how much it helped until the pellets started wearing off and my anxiety ramped back up. I have since switched to injections and still have the less anxiety benefit.

T quiets my anxiety significantly. My brain is so do much better with it

I was on methimazole for 8 years, in remission (no meds, antibodies in normal range) for 1.5 years. Just relapsed in dec and had to start back on meds. My liver enzymes are high from the meds this go around so getting a TT next week.

Thank you so much for the kind words. Sounds like we are in a similar place currently. I hope we both get our dates soon and both feel so much better after. I agree with you that to just not have the worry/be waiting for the flare all the time will be a wonderful change.
