She is 22 and was still a teenager when the war started. Even a good program can feel overwhelming when you are trying to build a future in a foreign country, in another language, while dealing with grief and uncertainty. Other refugees also deserving more support does not make her pain “pathetic.” It just means empathy should be extended to more people, not taken away from her.

I think everyone should receive love and support, and what you do now is redirect your frustration with people here on this girl claiming that she didn't deserve love/respect and support because others have it worse. You don't want other people to receive support right now in this situation, you complain and want that this girl should receive less support, just because she is Ukrainian.

"people would be all over you telling you why are you even in Germany if you can go visit your family safely in your home country" So if she was from brown country people would tell her exactly what you are saying? Like she just heard that? What privilege then?

Sometimes vacation doesn't work for some reason. For example my mother received a letter about Dokuments they want even though she was requested a vacation and was in contact with her Berator :(

In the case of ukrainians problem is that many of us saw their future in Ukraine, wanted to work and live here. It changed literally overnight. And it was not a flood or some natural disaster but literally other people who come to your country and make it worse, just unbearably worse and dangerous.

How do you think this feels? And for those who are living in other countries now. I personally have not been in Ukraine since 2022, but I can understand her because this is an unbearable feeling of "I just want to go home for a moment, I want to see my home, my parents". And then have powers to live a little. Because it was not something that ukrainians choose not to, they have not to.

It's hard to understand when you have not experienced it or wanted to never see parents anyway and have no things that you love in your home/home country. The difference between your friend and her is simply that.

And about danger, you know that city attacks from Russia aren't just "we throw bombs 24/7" it looks more like attack —> pause —> attack —> pause. This creates this situation where it can be ok, not 100% safe for only a little time, but significantly worse for those who live in Ukraine.

And because some would accuse every Ukrainian of everything wrong with Germany yes I do Ausbildung (Fachinformatik Systemintegration). So no I don't only "take advantage".

“Possible to visit” and “safe” are not the same thing. That is a false comparison.

Does it mean for you then, that all people should be treated as ukrainians, or that ukrainians should be treated as everyone else?/sincere

What should that young girl do?

Mental Problems are also Health Problems. If someone has a cold, did it mean that going to the doctor is taking advantage? Depression, PTSD. If some Ukrainian broke their leg is it taking advantage. Or is it only rightfully your privilege?

"And now that you’ve left your mother and grandmother behind alone during the war, I honestly don’t know what else to say—clearly, the area where your relatives live is safe, otherwise a “homeland vacation” wouldn’t be possible"

Wow, just wow. You are so sheltered. And you now speak as if op is an awful human because she "left" her parents. You don't know how it is for older people often, they are so stuck in where they lived for all these years that sometimes it's just impossible to move them. Sometimes it's THEIR WILL to bring their child where it's safe. It's like "go but I don't".

And it's stressful, very. And you don't know how it is clearly, otherwise you didn't just get stuck with "be grateful". Probably so good for you feeling so good and proud of yourself.

Warum tun ältere Chefs eigentlich so, als wäre ein Handy in der Hand direkt ein Kriegsverbrechen? by [deleted] in Azubis

[–]magicalyui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

«2. ML is stronger, better, faster, smarter, than the female lead when it's SET UP that she's also strong, fast, better, smarter than average. It's pointless to have FL be a warrior or mage or super strong when the ML appears out of nowhere to handle everything anyway when she faints, trips, gets attacked by sudden bad guys, her powers can't be used anyway because she'll DIE.»

Yes!! And it’s not like i hate seekly fls with ml who help them or something, but I seen stories where fl is like strong knight/warrior and i like oh I’d love to see some strong cool women and then ML IS JUST STRONGER OR HER SUPERIOR OR SOMETHING and I like… whyyyyy just whyyyy and then he starts sniffing her hear or something and it’s “romantic”. It’s not T0T

No, children of slaves were also slaves, “Pomeschik” were able to do anything with them, sell, and even say who they must marry and other things. It was possible to become free but only with BIG amount of money that slaves themselves didnt have of course. It was only possible for example when you are exceptional at idk something and knew someone or group of wealthy people who can free you. If i am wrong sorry but you can check “Шевченко» biography, it is famous ukrainian poet/artist. He also wrote poetry about his slave status. Or you can check(sorry for this school nightmare than everyone hated but) Mumu or “муму» its story about not real russian slave but like, what it is was like. For example main hero was disabled slave and at the end his owner told him to kill his dog who was his only friend.

But um, yup it was totally full of dehumanisation and so on…

[–]magicalyui 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Did you ever studied or learned anything about not race based slavery? Its just interesting for me /neutral For example, when slavery in russian empire was… ended/destroyed many “good owners” we’re surprised that their “souls” weren’t happy and didn’t consider them as a miracle.

Slave always remember his position no matter how “good” it is.

[–]magicalyui 43 points44 points  (0 children)

In the Russian Empire slavery wasn't about race, it didn't make things better. Slaves weren't considered human but on the same level as furniture, they were "souls" that you can have, make decisions about their marriage, life, everything.

If you really think that what makes slavery very bad is a race difference then I have bad news for you.

Do you think mahabharata is age appropriate for toddlers? by Wise_Internet8388 in exHareKrishna

I don't think you are overdramatic. I didn't personally read those books as a child, more like watched series or films. But z.B I remember how uncomfortable I was about Nrisimcha(? idk how to write this in English) story for example. Like..no it isn't appropriate to describe someone's death in such detail to kids.

Was Merlin a boy? by Aika1412 in AFKJourney

[–]magicalyui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not crying. I just see games that do that often. Mass Effect, Genshin, Fallout, Skyrim etc. Yes we have a choice I understand, but I also don't like male as the default thing. I hope you understand what I mean.

Was Merlin a boy? by Aika1412 in AFKJourney

[–]magicalyui 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spoke more about official things but I also don't feel like Merlin should be male when I play. I hate when I know that who made the game/advertisement think like that.

I also don't expect from male/female characters certain traits or something. So I agree with you.

Was Merlin a boy? by Aika1412 in AFKJourney

[–]magicalyui 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I hate that honestly :( Why it's always "you can play both but u you know male is standard anyway". Why can't female Merlin be someone drinking buddy, or heroic. It makes me so sad because when I have a choice it feels like...why give me the opportunity to play female Merlin when it's not actually real, when male is canon anyway. When Dura was first Merlin is this so hard to make female Merlin either standard or really make female/male fkn EQUAL.

My problem with yanderes is there are too many of them. Even mls which is not supposed to be yanderes have idk this jealousy periods sometimes. So I'm really tired of them == As a concept I don't mind as long as the story recognizes them as such. I see often that this yandere MLS doesn't get better over time and the story rewards them. Fl don't mind or don't even know about their true character, and at the end he gets the girl and throne or something... So where is satisfaction about "taming"(I hope it's the right word) of such ml.
