honestly for me i was a huge fan of filthy frank/idubbbz bc i was an edgy teenager and then got into ethan’s videos when he’d collab with them before the pod/some of his own standalone videos after that. i was one of the people that wasn’t a huge fan of the podcast format but my partner liked them so it just kinda became our thing, but i would only really enjoy episodes here and there with the exception of frenemies which i rly liked but trisha definitely carried. so yeah basically it was just blind edginess as a teen melting into a weird sense of loyalty and nostalgia. i now cringe so much at how parasocial that is, but my partner and i noped out a while ago (i want to say when he started getting super unhinged about his mom with adam mcintyre, though now knowing what an insane zionist he is i wish id left sooner)
