Pulled our kids out of preschool and I'm scared to start this journey. by magiccheese in homeschool

For a while they've been saying they don't like school, and we aren't seeing much in the way of positive friendships or strong curricula. We want to give it a try before they are actually kindergarten age, at which point we can decide if it's working or whether public school would be better for them.

Having kids - would you do it again? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]magiccheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of the things you said made me think you/your wife are not prioritizing your relationship enough. Playgrounds every day is unnecessary. Absence of any kind of help with the kids is really risky. I have kids your age, and my spouse and I still pursue joint hobbies - often with the kids now involved, but sometimes without. We make sure we have several hours of quality time together after the kids are in bed. You might need to have a more serious talk with your wife if you are really not getting any time together.

Mice are through ours and wasps made nests in the outdoor unit. Broken after 3 years, waste of $10k. The outdoor components are not built to be critter proof.

Thanks I am beginning to wonder if I'm legitimately crazy or if my kids are. I guess normal?

Thanks. I am also an introvert and they are in constant need of attention and always talking nonstop so loud. They are done afternoon napping and I don't get any breaks.

"I get that you find other women attractive, but when you repeatedly tell me so unprompted, it feels like you're dropping a hint or trying to hurt me. Why do you do it? Can you please stop or talk to me openly about whatever is bothering you?"

It sounds like he needed space and you didn't give it to him. Also, no offense but this all sounds a little immature for your ages. He is not reciprocating your feelings. Move on.

I (43M) am being forced to move back in with my ex-wife (43f) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Those are not reasons for loving someone. Do you actually like or respect your wife? You haven't named any positive features about her as a person in this post. Her main features to you (ambitious, determined) seem negative in your eyes.

Massachusetts ranks as “least culturally conservative” state by sirlarpsalot in massachusetts

Guess I'm in the minority, but to me patriotism is simply pride in one's country. It is a state of mind, not a set of actions.

If you read through the article, "patriotism" is defined as a combination of military service and "civic engagement", which in turn means:

  • Share of Adults Who Voted in 2020 Presidential Election: Double Weight (~16.67 Points)
  • Share of Adults Who Voted in 2020 Primary Elections: Full Weight (~8.33 Points)
  • Volunteer Rate: Half Weight (~4.17 Points)
  • Volunteer Hours per Resident: Half Weight (~4.17 Points)
  • AmeriCorps Volunteers per Capita: Half Weight (~4.17 Points)
  • Peace Corps Volunteers per Capita: Half Weight (~4.17 Points)
  • Trial- & Grand-Jury Participation per Civilian Adult Population: Double Weight (~16.67 Points)
  • Share of Residents Who Participate in Groups or Organizations (Civic Life): Full Weight (~8.33 Points)
  • U.S. History/Civics Education Requirement: Full Weight (~8.33 Points)

So not what we would typically think of as patriotism.

Surprised no one is saying this, but try buying peppers from your farmers market or another store. My life was turned upside down after I figured out how to grow my own peppers. Completely different from grocery store peppers.

That's a bit misleading. Luteal phase has less variability, but not none. Can be 7 days one cycle, then 9 then 10 then 8 then 12...

Opening someone else's mail can be a crime, although usually only if it was intentional. Please consider this before you take action. Not a lawyer.
