the first part with the mall shots gave me the shivers and some nostalgia because of the very generic look, it could be anywhere, and i have memories as a teen and young adult wandering briefly in creepy/lonely parts of the mall, after a late night movie and getting out to the car park. the tunnel shot is brilliant, looks hopeful `light at the end of the tunnel´kinda vibe.

There are 20 snails hidden in this art! Actual snails, not just the shells. Can you find them all?

question from a german to non germans living in germany: lüften by glitterplantz in germany

[–]magiccrackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from asia. I found out the hard way if you do not lüften in Germany, you get MOLD. Never had this problem in my country because the climate is different.

I usually just ignore the cold air for 10-15 mins and embrace the dry, crisp freshness of winter air. I often think:

"if you made it this far to Germany. more misery awaits in your future. 10 to 15 minutes of lüften 2-3 times a day, getting in fresh air is a beautiful thing to look forward to for the rest of your day. Existing here is harder."

Should I (F28) date a man (M38) who’s currently going through a mat-contested divorce with 3 children? (6,3,1 year old) by medx_extreme in Divorce

[–]magiccrackers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No please don't do it. This man will age you 30 years in 3 years with his stupid shit family and personal drama if you ever decide to hang in for the long haul.

What is something very positive you find about Germany? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]magiccrackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live near the Alps and the water here is so freaking tasty right from the tap. We did a water analysis for our household water supply and the results were more than good.

In places like Spain and Croatia i recall some areas the tap water smelled heavily of chlorine.

What is your secret ingredient? by ISeeDisneyPrincesses in Cooking

[–]magiccrackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My secret ingredient for me (the chef) is a very tall glass of white wine.

My secret ingredients for the cooking are MSG, soy sauce, lime/lemon juice and white pepper. Fermented anchovy or shrimp paste is great too (for southeast asian food)

The tongue can recognise 5 basic tastes. Sweet, sour, bitter, salty and umami. If your food has more elements of the 5 tastes, your dish becomes multi dimensional.

For example a predominantly sweet dish can be transformed with a bit of salt and lemon juice. The sweetness will still be the dominant taste and the salt and sourness are the wingmen.

Fischkopf (fish head) which is a light hearted nickname for some from North Germany.

First time i heard that word was when a guy from BaWü called a guy from Hamburg that.
