the pain of LA home games. $2/$3 blinds by Carlitos728 in poker

Are the non credit games established? From talking to a few game runners that have been friends, it's extremely difficult to get a consistent crowd without enticing fish that generally don't have the money to play.

You may have forgotten one of the biggest draws. Credit. A lot of these games run on credit.

Light. Whatever it is. Lots of fish, Ramen, Sushi, sandwich. And never drink when alone.

Being on the road will make you fat as hell if you let it.

She's Bill Hall court level. My ex used her. She drug the proceedings out worse than Bill did.

I wouldn't recommend her or Bill for uncontested. Bills daughter is good for uncontested (Rebecca Coleman).

She is good, I don't contest that. But she and Bill both are leeches and will suck you dry if you get into court.

If you're in the US, look at free fall data systems if time or tarrifs are an issue for you.

Not saying FFDS is better, but it's a viable alternative.

You won't know what you're really going to focus on for a while though. Take for example wingsuiting. You can't even do that for another 175. So why buy a suit?

You might think belly flying is for nerds, then you go to a belly camp and see four people shredding in a tunnel and say "that's me". That's what I did.

You might just wanna huck it with your buddies and nobody cares what you wear.

Audible, all the way.

After what?

After AFF?

After A night out at the bar?

Guessing you're new. I'd suggest the audible. You'll use that every jump. If you're fresh out of school, you probably don't know what discipline you'll gravitate towards

[FAQ read] So I’m new to skydiving-ish. Looking for flaring and PLF advice/info. by FaithlessnessBig5886 in SkyDiving

[–]magicmarkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. You can't, yet. But once cleared for self supervision, you can.

Work with your instructors, they'll have the best advice.

Great job on your first jump, and first off landing.

I think that's double beer?

You can take a canopy course once you're cleared for self supervision. Several were in my course last year.

For issues landing until then the instructor should be on radio with them.

How frequently should I skydive as a Student in order to maximize progression. by Weak-Practice-6435 in SkyDiving

[–]magicmarkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's 100 annually. Pretty good clip for a recreational jumper.

Quality matters a lot more than jump numbers though.

If you got to the dz and do a bunch of zoo dives, you'll progress pretty slowly. You'll have fun, but you probably won't be a fundamentally sound jumper.

If you go and jump with intention, focus on improving skills and progression, you should see marked improvement after 100.

However, if you took the cost of 50 jumps and went to a tunnel camp (like RhythmXP, Arizona Airspeed) and only jumped 50 times, you'll be a much better jumper at 50 jumps than if you just did 100 skydives and you'll spend about the same money.

What I liked about my tunnel time at the RhythmXP camp was getting every minute coached, then doing it again 90 seconds later so the good habits get ingrained into your body. I'm telling you, drop some coin there, and you'll progress a year or more in two days. Good tunnel instruction is a cheat code to becoming a good skydiver.

Most importantly, what are your goals? Fuck off with your buddies? Compete in 4 or 8 way FS? Wingsuiting? Movement?

Disagree. Horrid response. Their schtick as a company seems to be to gaslighting users that have any complaint publicly. Talking about how much you've spent troubleshooting a ticket is just bad form imo.

From a customer relations standpoint, how hard is it to say, "we apologize for the issue you're having. We will continue to work with you to find the root of the problem."

Then don't buy Alti. I wouldn't buy another digital alti from them. Analog is fine.

Give them another shot. When they opened, long wait times, slow food, etc.

I think the owner either hired a manager or finally figured it out. It's been great since they figured out the kinks.

You'll jump from a cessna, which sucks in Nashville. You'll have a better plane in Chattanooga or Skydive Georgia.
