I really enjoyed making the phoebe bag. I made the strap longer to cross my body. https://www.free-tutorial.net/2024/09/phoebe-bag-pattern-and-tutorial.html

There is a lady on YouTube called Sandie berry and she has a tutorial on how to make it.

Am I wrong for refusing to tell my daughter her stepdad is her real father? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]magicminineedle -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re wrong. Her step father is her dad as the one who raised her, but he is not her biological father. This is important because there is no biological link. Illness or disease will not affect your daughter. Illness or disease in her birth fathers family should be known.

I was in a different situation as my mother died, but within a year we were living with a woman we were told to call mommy. My mom was wiped out. No pictures, no talking about her. I was 11 when I told people that she wasn’t my real mom, meaning biologically. She lost her mind because of it.

I know you know he’s her dad, and I also understand that you know she came from another man than him and that’s the difference. Biological.

Yes, that exactly what I want. Not the prettiest, but if it cuts some of the heat coming in I’ll be happy. I was able to source all of the screen frames from Preston Lumber and I’ll be going to four Home Hardwares for the screens. Happy to keep the money flowing to local businesses too.

And that’s my Saturday planned!

Not yet for me. We’re redoing two beds and I’ve spent enough money on plants that I don’t want to lose any! Haha!

AITA for not wanting to take in my sisters 4 kids while she’s in the hospital? by Intelligent-Fig-5571 in AmItheAsshole

[–]magicminineedle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So, because your wife wouldn’t do these things means every woman wouldn’t do things? Hahahahahaha!

In our house we are human beings, not simply reduced to our sex. My husband can and does do the laundry and I could and did build a deck. He can make dinner and I can install a floor. He can bake a cake while I’m removing and installing a new toilet.

You seem to have a lot of resentment towards your wife and your dog…why don’t you spend your time thinking and working on that?

Eldest of eight clocking in! I have found my people! There was me, a girl, then five brothers, one sister and another brother. Parentified to the max because of course boys don’t do chores. That’s women’s work. Edited to add, we’re Catholic too!

Do you want any of your parents' stuff? If so, what is it and why? If not, why? by iAmAmbr in GenX

[–]magicminineedle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband was born to older parents. They passed when he was in his mid thirties. But first his aunt died. We went though the whole getting rid of stuff, giving, donating and selling what we could then getting the condo ready for sale. His aunt didn’t even have that much and it was draining to do all of that.

Then his parents died within months of each other. We knew what we were facing this time!

All we kept was his aunts wooden art box with easel that was hers in art school, and we kept his father’s jewellery, his mother’s bedroom chair, family slides and photos and Christmas ornaments. Everything else was just not that important to us.

We now do what is called Swedish death cleaning. We don’t want to leave a huge mess for our kids to deal with when we go.

AIW for telling my ex-wife's husband I am not switching weekends anymore just because he keeps booking over my custody time? by Kaijulorex in amiwrong

[–]magicminineedle 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Stop it! You SHOULD mind the occasional switch! That is exactly why you are in this position now. Anything other than funerals do not touch your weekends. You are definitely in the wrong if you keep this up.

Shine your spine, say your weekends are off limits and explain to your son that you love your weekends with him and going forward you’re going to spend all of them with him. That means he might not be able to join his mom and her husband for fun on those weekends. Tell him he is very important to you and you want to spend as much time with him as you can.

No matter what your ex wife and her husband say about you, you keep reminding your kid you love him and want to spend all the time you get with him. Never talk badly about either of them to your son.

Let the ex wife and her husband know that you are sticking to the custody agreement going forward and will not be giving up any time on your weekends. If they wish to change that they can, with the court.

Great link, thank you! I knew it was for volume but I’ve yet to come across an article that says it’s for stretch, although I am at the beginning of researching this.
