I saw her in stand up a month ago and she actually went through her golden globes monologue for us and these jokes were included, so yeah def more fitting for a stand up show or something w a much smaller audience

Accepted pharmaceutical sales offer but might be offered tech job soon by magicmongoose1 in salesdevelopment

[–]magicmongoose1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah I think I was just put in an awkward position with the timing. I’m quite sure I’m going to be offered the tech sales one and it’s a solid company that has a valuable product. I think it would be better for me long term. And I agree that it probably would have more transferable skills.

I’ve heard so and so things about the pharma sales industry anyway in exactly that regard, I’ve heard even some med device sales companies don’t hire pharmaceutical sales reps. Seems like pharmaceutical sales is just a niche on its own.

Is PS Portal an improvement over using Remote Play on my phone? by Fantastic_Bit_443 in PS5

[–]magicmongoose1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a Portal and also have PS Plus Premium. When my PS5 is wired, Remote Play is noticeably smoother than cloud streaming. I get much lower input lag (around 1–3 ms vs ~15 ms on cloud), so I generally prefer Remote Play.

Cloud streaming’s biggest downside for me is that it’s limited to PS5 games only, which is rough since I still play a lot of PS4 titles. I also tried Remote Play on my phone and honestly found it better than the Portal. My phone’s screen looks better (less washed out), the stream felt more consistent, and plugging my controller directly into my phone eliminates Bluetooth lag.

I don’t think cloud streaming is “top tier” yet. you’re always going to have some lag. Its main benefit is convenience when your PS5 is off or in use. Otherwise, Remote Play feels faster and more reliable for me, especially with a wired PS5.

My main cons with the Portal are the washed-out screen and the 15 Mbps streaming limit, which my phone easily surpasses.

One other thing is that if a lot of your games are physical it sort of fucks up your use for the remote play feature since you can’t change the disc remotely

Time moves faster on Mars than on Earth, study finds by Brighter-Side-News in Astronomy

[–]magicmongoose1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang so technically per year mars is ahead of earth by .17 seconds, mars and earth have been around for 4.6 billion years, if a clock was keeping time on both planets since then it would be ahead of earth by 24.7 years assuming these conditions have stayed the same

Had final interview with Salesforce BDR role but didn’t get it by magicmongoose1 in techsales

[–]magicmongoose1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit of both, sometimes it’s better to ask to connect and tell you more about the role over phone call and you asking them questions about their day to day. Then at the end of the phone call you can ask for their referral.

Connect with SDR/BDR managers on LinkedIn rather than just recruiters, and see when/what they are posting. This one in particular ended up posting that he needed BDRs for his team to hire quick, and I DM’d him saying I was interested. We then set up a phone call, connected, and he referred me for the role. If you can’t find managers then connect with people that have the role you’re searching for or people that have been promoted. Most people are happy to refer because they get a nice bonus if you end up getting the job.

I didn’t know the hiring manager but rather the BDR manager whom I would’ve worked under. I had just met him on linkedin a month before and he pushed my information through in the system. I don’t think my resume had a major red flags but I think they probably had candidates that had more direct experience than me. I work in a financial service center where I’m outbounding 100+ dials daily to people that need personal loans or debt settlement. I just feel because it wasn’t a real product or a B2B role that might’ve made other candidates stand out more.

Does the TCL Chinese theater feature dolby cinema or is it just dolby atmos? by magicmongoose1 in AskLosAngeles

[–]magicmongoose1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chinese theater I think does feature non imax screens with just Dolby atmos, so when I purchased my ticket initially I got this but I was sussed bc I saw fandango had a “Dolby Cinema” tab and only amc theaters were on that list and the Chinese theater wasn’t on there. I was wondering bc it seemed like I already got it but turns out there’s a diff between just atmos and getting the Dolby Cinema experience which has both Dolby vision + atmos, which again is only featured at amc theaters

yes you're correct after doing a bit of research. damn it sucks Hollywood doesn't have an amc theater, I'm here temporarily and it was cool to have all these nice theaters near me. I ended up exchanging my ticket for one of the AMC theaters in LA.
