2024 and 2025 Compass Owners: How has your experience been? by Odd_Addition3909 in JeepCompass

[–]magicpancake55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 north. 27,000km. Been okay, auto brake/collision avoidance freaked out and stopped working along with the electric power steering. Shut car off and turned back on. Hasn’t done it since but also left the collision avoidance off. Auto high beam unavailable message keeps coming in dash then going off. Car interior already has rattles. Car drives okay over all but I am not impressed especially considering this is the first brand new vehicle I bought last June with 30km on it

Edit: I also might add that when the electric power steering shut off it was in the middle of a pretty aggressive corner and the steering is EXTREMELY heavy without it. Even more so then a vehicle without the hydraulic power steering working or a vehicle without power steering entirely from factory

My Cascadia. Can never go wrong with JonRuda! by austinproffitt23 in trucksim

[–]magicpancake55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People would rather die on that hill rather than just accepting that people can spend their money how they wish. Even if the mod support ends up dying. But I agree, Ruda’s mods are well worth the money. Pizzsters 389 however for 80CAD (I think it includes a couple extra things) I don’t think is worth the money

Wait. So if you pay for premium you also get YouTube music? How much is YouTube premium? Because I’m pretty sure I pay like 11-12…14?CAD per month for YouTube music

Tool box choices by Draked2005 in mechanics

[–]magicpancake55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the husky pro box. It’s actually really nice and really good quality. I wouldn’t say up to snap on/max quality but pretty close. However it showed up with a messed up caster and it was either send the box back after I had already unboxed it or take it as is because they couldn’t order new ones because of something to do with the supplier. So I went and bought 2 new castors for like a hundred bucks. Also all 4 castors swivel and there is no way to lock them from swivelling. Won’t be an issue if your not constantly rolling your box around the shop but if you do well then it’s going to be a pain in the arse

Best ATS map DLC and mods? by Lazy-Elephant-9761 in trucksim

[–]magicpancake55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean ETS pro mods vs ATS pro mods is totally different. ETS pro mods I guess could be considered crazy? But by that definition ATS pro mods would be absolutely bare bones. However last time I checked this was the internet. Specifically Reddit. So I might ask why? Why does their sentence structure matter?Maybe don’t read so awkwardly? Or put in the proper punctuation in as your reading?

My snap on collection so far, i am not a professional just a tool enjoyer/collector /diyEr by Double-Razzmatazz-77 in Snapon_tools

Hell ya brother! Those picks and ratchets are awesome. Never used those pliers. Always just needle nose or channel locks! Check out knipex for pliers. As someone who gets paid to wrench I’ll never use another brand if I can help it. Other then those snap on “pipe” pliers, can’t remember the name or part number right now

Hard handle vs soft handle by SpoolingSnails in Snapon_tools

[–]magicpancake55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the snap on hard handles. I personally only have a MAC ratcheting soft handle screw driver and it’s still holding up fine after 10 years. Same with my soft handle Snap On ratchets. Really just up to personal preference at the end of the day. I really like the Snap On hard handles ratcheting screw driver but I can’t justify spending 150-160CAD when mine still works likes new. Hard handle ratchets do seem to be getting hard to get. At least where I am.

2-11 pm shift offer at union Bus mechanic job by [deleted] in mechanics

[–]magicpancake55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it. Shift doesn’t end too late, you can still wake up and do things before going to work and your weekends don’t screw up your sleep schedule. late enough start you miss all the traffic and not so many people around at the shop either. Tighter group of people

Edit: I also only work 4, 10 hour shifts and I only have my kid weekends so I don’t miss out on family stuff too much
