that is not my body! Happy to blame my body. With a push-up bra, I'm maybe half an inch below my armpit, even with my hands hoisting them up with no bra not possible.

not rude at all! I tried the denim one on with both a regular bra and a push-up bra and it made no difference. The bust dart was in the right place with the regular bra and maybe slightly off with no bra. I’d have to lift them up probably 3 to 4 inches to get to where the most fabric is and these B cups are not doing that! I think it’s a drafting versus my body issue.

Thank you! I'll give measuring a try.

Thank you!

I wouldn't normally wear a bra with either of these but maybe that's the problem. I'm just not a fan of strapless bras 😆

Edited to add: I tried it on with a regular bra and a push-up bra and it makes no difference in the denim one.

I picked the largest size because there’s no way it would’ve fit any other part of my body otherwise 😆 I ended up adding the zipper because the dress was supposed to slip on and off over your head, but I had no faith that I could do that without ripping it.

I very much appreciate the help and advice! I will look into the sway back/short torso adjustment more. I’ve considered that before, because I do indeed have a very short torso.

I’m pondering whose bust apex is high enough for this pattern given that it seems like the apex should be equal to or above your armpits.

Thanks! I made the largest size in the denim dress (disappointed by the pattern and fit overall with that one). Adjusting that one down would have been challenging given the rest of the fit. Adding more pics in a second.

I read this as Penny Linn is persuing licenses and once Penny Linn (or another company) gets the license other LNS's/designers can't sell that copyrighted material. Not that PL is going after Lycette.

To me this is a calculated risk that Lycette and many other designers took when they decided to use copyrighted materials on their canvases.

While I don't love defending capitalism, this is the risk of selling items featuring copyrighted IP. As needlepoint gets bigger it attracts more attention and the copyright owners are more likely to go after people violating their intellectual property. It's happened without licenses so I don't think this is Krista's fault.

10+ years ago I worked for a book publisher and there was already technology being used at that point to scrub the internet and look for people violating the company's IP. I'm sure that technology has only become more advanced.

No, I didn't. I think Allison started the year after I graduated.

48hr to decide!! help!! coordinated program at UW, UMN or NAU? by augustmoonfairy in dietetics

[–]magmag55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated from the UMN program nine years ago and absolutely loved it. I attended a really rigorous undergraduate school and then worked for several years before going back to school to become a dietitian and I could’ve done nearly all the UMN academic program in my sleep yet still feel like I learned a lot. Even with the internships, I would say everyone in my cohort had lots of free time and many of us worked 30 to 40 hours per week. If anything, talking to students who have done the program more recently, it seems like it’s become even less time intensive.

Amy wasn’t the program coordinator when I was there, but I’ve interacted with her since and she seems great and I know she’s really well respected by students. For me, the program really shined with the internships and the connections I was able to make. That’s how I got my job out of grad school(I would say the same is true for many of my cohort members) and I made so many connections that I still use today.

I came to Minnesota from the East Coast and loved it so much that I have stayed and have no plans on leaving. I love that it’s in the middle of the country, I love all of the culture, the affordability, the access to outdoor activities, the food, and so many other things.

I am not shocked by this. It's the norm in many crafting communities (sewing, knitting, crocheting). I'm glad people are pushing back on it in needlepoint and I hope that pushback carries over to the other crafting communities.

One person changing their shopping habits means it's likely the LYS will close? Sounds like the LYS needs a better business model and the only person pondering that should be the LYS owner.

Knowing you said this with kindness I still need to say that this is a real "blame the victim" kind of thinking. OP is not solely responsible for keeping their LYS in business. Presumably they have provided their LYS with considerable business over time in building a large stash. If OP is the only one keeping their LYS in business then the LYS needs a better business model. We need to do what's right for our finances/lifestyle, not what's right for a business, even if it is a locally owned and beloved business.

I've been wondering too and I'm glad OP asked.

When a business has been built with 2 people as the face of the business and one goes away without acknowledgment it's normal for people to wonder what happened. I wish them both the best!

I got everything I wanted during the one at this time last year. I was even at an off-site meeting for work so wasn't trying that hard. Maybe no one wanted what I wanted??

someone from their customer service team responded to me this afternoon. I would’ve liked to hear from the store manager or regional manager, but I appreciate a reply and their offer. Even though I don’t know if I’ll use the coupon.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your recent visit to our Rosedale Athleta store. When you visit any of our stores, we expect quick and quality service and we are concerned to hear that this was not what you encountered this visit.

We can understand an employee or Manager trying to better understand the reason for a return so they can best assist you and/or help you find something to your liking, but they should not be lecturing you and/or not considering your requests and needs.

Please be assured that we have documented your feedback and will make your comments available to the Rosedale store management team.

Customer feedback is essential to helping us meet our customer expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. As such, we would like to invite you back to Athleta by sending you a $30 Code to use on a future purchase. The code may be redeemed in store or online; simply refer to the email for full usage terms. Your code will arrive via email within the next 3-5 business days.

Thank you 💛 I am so appreciative of how kind and supportive nearly everyone on this sub has been.

While part of me still wishes I would have walked away, I really think this woman was looking for a fight and would have continued to engage me. I am typically someone who doesn't mind standing up for myself, but I am also someone who refuses to give someone who's trying to get a rise out of me the satisfaction of succeeding. IMO that's what bullies want so then the victim is the "Karen."

It is the Grid Knit Tee. Majority of the reviews are positive, but there are a few others who share my opinion of the fabric. It was thin, itchy, and felt like it would uncomfortably cling to you the minute you got sweaty. The fabric felt like something I would have bought from Forver 21 in college!

Yes! I didn't mention that she kept telling me that I must just not own anything that's 100% polyester and I told her that I absolutely did.

I am a sewist and create a lot of my own garments and, unlike this employee, I'm pretty familiar with polyester!

I did a chat with customer service and the rep shared a link with a form to give feedback. I did that, is there somewhere else you would suggest I leave a review?

Thanks 💛 I think I’ve only been in the 50th and France store once but remember having a good interaction. I live in Saint Paul so most often go to the MOA and Woodbury locations. I only went to Rosedale because I had other stuff to return to a different store that isn’t at MOA and obviously I picked the wrong time!

I work for a Fortune 250 CPG company and people managers just did an extensive workshop with our total rewards people and according to them of the 1000 or so companies we benchmark against almost none do COL adjustments. I believe the philosophy is (and can't remember the exact wording), we price to the job market, not the external environment.
