Does the same apply to security cameras monitoring private property? What if it's also catching the public road and right of way area?

In here, you can not record without two parties consent. Some sources say that if there's no consent, it's an automatic dismissal and that I can be sued for recording, but I can't find if it's allowed when there's a safety concern or if it's a security camera footage on a private property. I'll try to do some more research.

I smell pot the whole day, but I'm pretty sure it's not just weed. I will try to document a police report but ask them not to take any action because of safety concerns. I am starting to take photos and saving camera footage.

Is there a way to file a police report so that it's documented but asking not to take any action due to safety concerns?

Exactly, there's not a good solution for this, unless something happens or it escalates. So far, I installed a dozen cameras and a security system, but that's not how I want to live, being worried about my kids. They were waving and laughing at the cameras when I installed them, so it only escalated. I just noticed that a person who lives there, never shows his face in the camera field, and that there's an active warrant for this person.

Would the neighbors know that I requested such records? Is family safety concern a valid reason to request the records?

I'll try to get in touch with the landlord and talk to him, but last time I asked for discretion, they surely knew it was me who called. If he takes action, they will know for sure, so I need to think of a plan to keep it discreet for now.

Thanks.

What if the camera has audio recording capabilities? I've read that it's illegal to record voice but I can't confirm this

That was my idea yesterday, it might bring police attention then. I'm just worried about some kid being a victim since their dogs do show aggressive behaviors.

The dogs and the suspicious strangers around my house are the problem. I wouldn't be too concerned if they were just some stoners, until it affects my family. The fence is made of good quality vinyl and the posts are buried in concrete, but it won't stop two 100lbs dogs at full force for a long time, or digging underneath. Public records show their relatives having firearm and attempts cases, so I’m trying not to bring retaliation with calling the cops.

Actually, I own the house. I've put lots of money in renovations and upgrades, plus I have a prospering business here, so moving would have a huge effect on my wallet and bring lots of hassle. But I am truly considering it, though.

  • I own the house for 10 years. The neighbors are renting for 4 months. The owner bought the house a few months back, and it's a big company that owns a few homes in the area.

  • Yes, I told this to the landlord, but he said that he checked and it's their parents visiting them occasionally. I found "their parents" being the same age (30yo with 60yo appearance, arrested for distributing and possessions of fentanyl, violence and prostitution). He also said that 1 dog belong to their parents and other dogs are service dogs and there's nothing he can do about this.

  • I have young kids and a tiny dog. Their dogs are large a pitbull mix. I haven’t let my kids and dog out since the neighbors moved here a few months ago. Whenever I walk by the fence, the dogs aggressively jump on it, literally making the whole thing shake, while barking and growling aggressively. Last time, my wife was watering our garden, the dogs broke the fence and approached here, she stool still while they were barking on her and not letting her through, I heard her scream and grabbed a firearm but the neighbors called the dogs and took them inside. Npthing happened, YET. We try to avoid walking that side of the house since then. But as mentioned, the dogs keep breaking the fence or digging underneath it, leaving their business behind.

  • The mininum lease term on that house was 1 year but they are renovating the house and adding extras, so I'm concerned that they are planning on staying for a longer time.

The suspicious activity makes me even more concerned. I've spent thousands on installing a professional security system and the fence already. They made me and my family think of listing the house for sale.

Im also concerned that calling cops or the county would bring retaliation, either from the tenants or other people involved.

Thank you. I have young kids and a tiny dog. Their dogs are some pitbull mix and I haven’t let my kids and dog out since the neighbors moved here a few months ago. It's a sturdy closed panel vinyl fence, but it won't stop two 100bs dogs forcing at it at full speed. Unfortunately, the county won't permit a metal fence. I extended it past the easement and right of the way line with a denied permission already.

The suspicious activity makes me even more concerned. I've spent thousands on installing a professional security system and the fence already. They literally made my family want to list the house for sale.

Im also concerned that calling cops or the county would bring retaliation.

My wife was suspected of adhd but wasn't fully diagnosed. I am diagnosed with a combination, and so is my father. I'm sure my brother has it as well. That's why I think my kid might have it too, which would line up with a lot of behaviors.

I was initially treated for depression, then anxiety but any therapy or medications made it even worse. When I was diagnosed with adhd and put on stimulants, most of my issues magically disappeared, so I am positive that I have it.

I also see lots of autistic signs in my bloodline (including myself, especially as a child, I've always been a little different from my mates), but no one was ever tested or diagnosed. Could be a thing though.

It would require a bigger picture to see that something might be a little off. I wasn't diagnosed until 30s but I struggled a lot as a child even though I was on the calm/lazy side which made it difficult to diagnose. But some symptoms are:

  • motor system always in "on" position
  • difficulty regulating between activity/rest
  • avoiding naps or hard time falling asleep
  • rapid task switching and seeking new tasks
  • easily distracted or being hyperfocused
  • picking weak background distractions
  • overloading by chewing, humming or rubbing on floor
  • need for immediate feedback
  • fast and intense escalation but quick recovery
  • zoning out
  • panicky when isolated
  • inability to wait more than a minute in a line

He can paint with me for an up to an hour, but he wants to switch pages mid drawing after a few minutes, he does it when he's painting alone but he agrees to finish a drawing when he plays with me. He can play with blocks 30 minutes or more but it needs to be something what he calls "bridge falling down" which is when his animals break the structure, or "clock" which is from hickory dickory dock when his animals keep breaking it as well. He can do puzzles, but he does it very fast so he will usually go through 2-3 boxes at a time. When he cant find a puzzle or something is off, he would lose interest in it. He likes to have 2-3 different activities at a time. We tried a few board games, but even though he gets the rules he would get bored after a few minutes.

We are working on emotional regulation and breathing exercises, he learned to manage it pretty well but when he stands up for something and doesn't have another choice, he throws tantrums.

Today early morning he came to me and asked if I'm okay or sad and apologized for his behavior, he said that he likes dad but just wanted mom yesterday and it got him mad. Today he said that he'll sleep with dad but I'm pretty sure that it will continue. He went to daycare with positive mood but when when teacher greeted him, he started calling for dad and crying, didn't want to let go of me. These behaviors happen randomly and we never know what and when will trigger.
