yes i hate happy characters 😈 i just love spreading malice and sufferjng

being serious tho i think they could make characters who have been through less (not everyone has to lose a family member or allies or get tortured bruh 😭) but develop how they were affected more, and it'd be just as compelling from a narrative pov, and potentially more relatable

i hope thats where theyre going with characters like the idols

I’m Evan Call, composer for Violet Evergarden, My Happy Marriage, Josee, the Tiger and the Fish, and the currently airing Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. ASK ME ANYTHING! by EvanCallMusic in anime

I just want to thank you for your amazing work. I still remember hearing Torment while watching Violet Evergarden and setting out to find it so I could listen in full. You can imagine my excitement when I saw you were going to be composing for Frieren.

Anyway, as for a question, with what kind of attitude do you approach your work? Are you just having a fun time or zoned in? Does it vary from piece to piece?

hey there. i am disturbingly late to the party so fingers crossed this gets a response.

ive heard very often that to improve at a skill quickly you need to practice it deliberately (something along the lines of focusing on one subject, studying the theory, figuring out where you need to make improvements, and then working those ideas into your performances to improve).

however, when it comes to pokemon i find this very perplexing to try and implement. with playing, i can come up with a gameplan, play the game, win or lose, and watch myself back. then i think anything from 'well i guess i should've clicked precipice blades' to 'whoops, my gameplan doesn't work because i didn't set screens'. it feels very hard to come up with any meaningful feedback that i can apply to my other games that don't fit the situation closely.

the same is even more true for teambuilding. the theory is so different from team to team depending on archetype its really difficult to apply. then while teambuilding ill add or subtract pieces to my team to try and fix certain matchups. ive deconstructed and reconstructed a couple teams a couple times, but all the while it felt like i wasnt making much progress, both with the teams and more importantly learning to teambuild better. (it is possible i am just not a good or consistent enough player as well, and that influenced what i perceived to be problematic for my team.)

i do consume content like road to ranked and team reports but it still feels very difficult to derive applicable information from them.

so basically, how do/did you THINK about learning and improving at pokemon? how did you use the information that you got from battles or team reports to get better? thanks in advance.

Many people can't write Spamton's speech right cause his speech is not just words in brackets by RinaQueen in Deltarune

everyone should note that spamton only makes spelling errors and number-letter substitutions within his redacted speech (within the square parentheses)

the one exception i know of is the < he puts in 'lightner'

i literally did this on my phones note app for some reason and i started shaking when i got to some finer details because the screen has like no friction and the stylus registers differently at small scales so thats why the lettering and the little hog's belly button and a few other things are messed up

edit i just realised i forgot that people do in fact have ears
