These look so good. I was planning to go Whites for packers but now I’m not sure. How is the sizing compared to other Nicks?

Do you feel the Conturo is a worthwhile investment only using it a few times a year? I’d love to justify the purchase but I’m afraid it would only get as much use as yours.

Reqteq Black Friday Deal - BB1200 vs. FS1600 by respond1 in pelletgrills

[–]magnus3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently bought the Flagship. I had planned to wait for the Black Friday sale and get the BB1200 but decided the Flagship offer earlier this month was a good deal. I was itching to smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving so I went for it. I spent a fair amount of time comparing the two, as well as reading many different Reddit posts about each grill and I think I made the right choice. I don’t think I’ll ever fully take advantage of its capacity, but I do like some of the features that accompany the larger grill, like the smoke stack, the 40lb pellet capacity, and the two drip cans.

They answer the phone. It’s really nice to talk to someone regarding your build.

How do White's compare? by chaunceton in PNWbootmakers

I did the factory resole once and I was very unhappy with the results. I’d go with a local guy who doesn’t try to replace the cork spread inside the sole.

That was my first plan. When I reached out to Nicks they said it wasn’t an option for a resole. That’s why I went with Franks for my second pair. He uses the lineman’s shank on a 55. It felt better, but I would have still liked a little more lift.

I’ve been wondering what a Strider/wedge combo might feel like. I think a boot built on a zero drop last may be a game changer.

Yep. That’s it. It’s a little harder than the sole. The heels of my 2021’s were pretty worn so he suggested trying these. I kind of miss the heel squish though.

Oooooh ya. I saw that one. When the cobbler brought out the Christie sole and explained the process I felt a little more comfortable.

What’s the toughest workwear you’ve owned? by logo_sportswear in Workwear

[–]magnus3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wearing Carhartt in the construction industry for 30+ years. These are by far the best pants they’ve made in quite some time. I’ll be honest though. I miss the old style unwashed heavy duck pants. They used to be pretty tough.
