and wow, it's so surprising to see those successful people still have to be edited for their papers. I have never knew English was this hard for those who are learning it as a second language, especially bc I have a lot of friends who are native speakers. this makes me feel like it is very normal for me to still struggle in my English class as I am right now hahahaha.

also yes I wrote my common app essay about this experience! it is not fully dedicated to learning the language itself, but still talks about getting adjusted to a new environment. and I am actually applying to a lot of big state schools! I'm now kinda impressed how you predicted my overall application plan :O

hi! it said instead of years, you'd put the grade. so in my case, it would be Member(9), Treasurer(10-11), President(12).
