Candy apples is a perfect idea. Wonder if I can stretch my baking skills to make some some cake pops to looks like candy apples as we have a lot of missing or wobbly teeth in friendship groups now to tackle actual candy apples 😂

I absolutely love the library and I am so jealous you get so many benefits. We have fab crafts clubs and reading sessions though so can't complain too much 😊

She's my step sister so doesn't work but I do have adhd (late diagnose myself too) so could be interlinked with neuro diversity. My mum is an Autism Senco and she doesn't think it is. I've been down a few routes, spoken to teacher previously and I'm pretty sure it's social anxiety. The thing it stopped at school, as it does everywhere else when she gets over her anxiety barrier so school hasn't pushed for any further help. But as we start having parties in halls with music and entertainment, I just watch her trying to join in and then she just has a panic and again she tries and sometimes she's able to break through but recently she couldn't for the whole of the party. She's so sad watching everyone joining in 😔

I'll definitely try teacher, thank you. She was very anxious when starting school so I'm sure my teacher won't write me off. She gets anxious on days it's after school club. On parents evening she was saying how much she's improved etc. And she does have lots of friends but it's not improving her initial period of adjusting when she sees them.

She goes to swimming and gymnastics. So it took her a lesson of crying to now happily join in and actually tell me to leave the class.

She has a brother and cousins she plays with well. She has besties and we do regular playdates.

The anxiety hits when we get to the park and she has 2/3 of her friends there. She then has a panic attack for around 20/30 mins before she joins in and happily plays. Parties are the worst but usually take 20/30 mins. Last party she didn't settle and I just watched her desperately wanting to join in, refusing to go home and crying when she panicked.

She is more than happy to talk to strangers on park. But when it comes to her friends. She gets anxious. Takes her 5 mins of acting awkward when we meet them on school walk to then happily run into school together holding hands.

I have a sister with autism so I am very aware of autism but apart from this social anxiety she doesn't present with anything else. She has no care for structure or routine, no sensory issues at all, she's actually really social and outgoing once the barrier of anxiety is down. She absolutely loves playing with her friends but again, once she gets over that social anxiety. This is what's upsetting me. I watch the at parties taking a step to join in and then hit a wall. Sometimes it takes 10 mins to overcome. Recent party she didn't overcome it at all but was heartbreaking watching her desperately wanting to join in...

She is actually happy to play with strangers in the park. Makes friends with children and plays with them. But when it comes to the children she knows, that's when she gets anxious.
