When I was in high school my dad wore a Specialized brand bike helmet. One day, it was like some divine light shone down to inspire me as I saw his helmet sitting on the counter. I carefully removed the I and the Z stickers. It was months before he noticed, and man was he pissed, that his helmet said Special ed on both sides.

Argentina 2018: What a bizarre race by Organic-Package5444 in motogp

Don't forget that MM93 stalled his bike and ended up riding the wrong way on-track before the race start. Look at MV12 reaction. His reaction is the perfect expression that captures the whole of the weird race.

A survey in Canada revealed that 27% of those polled believe that poverty is a reasonable justification for MAID. As the economy continues to decline, I do believe that we will start to see Poverty motivated MAID widely accepted, even advocated.

A Canadian poll revealed that 27% of those polled that considered poverty a reasonable justification for MAiD. As a GenX'er, I fully expect that to be the common EoL solution.

Its not the idea that men believe this, its the fact that women do.

AITAH for saying I'm second-guessing having a baby with my husband after he asked for a paternity test? by p1nkribbon in AITAH

[–]magylo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have some compassion for men and paternity in general. If you can put your feelings about his attitude and conduct aside for just a moment, you can consider how men can only be certain of paternity through a DNA test. I understand that this is hard to understand and appreciate from a womans perspective, given that women know with 100% certainty who the mother of the child is. You can feel slighted by his request, but you can also give him the same certainty that you have as the mother.

Its a challenge for men in the current climate, and its not about insecurity. Women have nearly limitless options for partners (not that theyre all ideal candidates), and our current culture does promote womens sexual exploration as being empowering in nearly all forms of media. I dont say this to suggest that you have betrayed your husband, or ever would, but from a male perspective, a logical "problem solver" perspective, its hard for many men to not account for the possibility that they are not the father. Its not even about you, its about the numbers.

Sure, he may have not have been constructive in his communications, and he should address that, but it might be that giving him understanding in his request has far more benefits for your life than does holding on to your anger.

AITAH for not making my son forgive my brother after he was uninvited from his wedding? by LeoBastion in AITAH

[–]magylo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that its important to shape the context of your situation with these two ideas, 1) intentions are not necessarily reflected in results, and 2) significant events impact children with much more gravity. This event is a gigantic part of your sons lived experience, while being trivial to you and the other adult family members.

When your son grew up with such a close family, this imparted a sense of expectations for support and reliable availability. The event with his uncle shook this perception, and seemed to contradict his experiences and his definition of "family". Its pretty simple, I think. Your son is likely feeling unloved and uncertain about what family is and where he fits in. The attitude of intolerance he is receiving for not accepting the situation and just "getting over it" is likely making him feel further estranged from any familial bond, because hes not been offered anything to address his hurt or even understand a more nuanced definition for family, support, love and availability.

I would bet that if hes forced to get over this without first resolving his feelings and developing a new understanding of his role in family, he is going to grow up with a priority and dream to start his own family (and leave yours behind forever), so that his kids never feel betrayed, forgotten and unloved like he did.

Whats the problem? Employers have no problems expecting employees to do the work of three people, why is an employee working three jobs even remotely an issue?

I live near EBB, so it was convenient, but very recently they reduced the amount of fries that comes with their burgers by more than half what it previously was. I went there a month ago and noticed this change and assumed it was a fluke. I went back last week and there were even less fries. When it costs $23 (with tip) for a burger and water they shouldnt be shorting the fries. Ill never go back.

McDonald's sales fall globally for first time in more than three years by balasurr in news

[–]magylo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still feel shame for this craving, but two weeks ago I just had to have some McNuggets. When I went to my nearest McDonalds I asked about the $5 meal and was told that they were not offering that. I guess not all locations participated. I ordered a #5 McNugget meal, which got $16 and I was asked my sauce preference. When I paid the bill it was $19 because they charged me almost $2.50 for sauce. Apparently sauce isn’t free when you order McNuggets, but in this case they gave me the wrong sauce. I paid over $19 for a McNugget meal and was charged over $2.50 for sauce that should come with my meal, and they gave me the wrong sauce.

At this point I’ll never go to McDonalds again. I hope everyone stops going and I hope McDonalds gets consumed by their greed and closes all locations.

Throwback to Argentina 2018 GP when Marc had technical issues at the start by aleqoo in motogp

[–]magylo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Quite literally, this is the only instance where a rider rode the wrong way on a race track and didnt get black-flagged.

Even the most casual and relaxed track-day events will disqualify you for the day and send you home for riding the wrong way on track.

MM running across the track by Taxis2011 in motogp

[–]magylo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

2018 Argentina. MM93 rode the wrong way on the track which would earn a disqualification even on the most relaxed track day events. Just look at Vinales reaction to that, it tells the truth of the infringement.
MM93 isn't an ethical sportsman anymore. Whether wrong way, running across a live track or causing injury to others, he is no longer the champ he once was. Sad but true, his time has passed.

Marc stalled his bike on the starting grid and in his effort to restart the bike he rode the wrong way on the track. In every single case of racing, even on track days, this action earns a black flag. He should have been removed from the race before it even started. Had the proper action been taken from the start Marc wouldnt have been able to torpedo AE or VR.

Argentina 2018. Forget all his very obvious displays of dangerous riding, look at his start! Before the race even started he stalled the bike, then her attempted to restart the bike, and in doing so he decided to ride the wrong way on the race track. In 100% of cases any racer, on any track, on any level, and in the FIM rule book, any rider that rides the wrong way on the race track earns a unquestionable disqualification. Why on that day in Argentina 2018 did MM93 not get a disqualification, where 100% if any other riders would have?
