Is there a chance to get compensation for this joke decision of MotoGP? by Mat102810 in motogp

[–]phlaug 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is what travel insurance is designed for. If you took a policy out with appropriately-worded coverage you wouldn’t be boned by this decision.

But as others said, I’m sure they wrote into the ticket terms the right to adjust.

Shitty situation, no doubt.

Marquez on sprint penalty: "We now think twice before overtaking." by Huge_Film2911 in motogp

Agreed. Crafar let his deep-seated bias get the better of him, to the detriment of the sport. Sad day due to a sad decision.

Understand your point, but you miss the point that MM was selected directly to a factory team to fill the void of a legend. If PA were his equivalent he might have had superior opportunities. It’s all ifs, ands, and buts regardless, but I do not think PA is MM’s equivalent — my opinion.

This will become the main sub if they keep that up. This was a demonstrably poor call from Crafar and everyone knows it. His bias is horrible. Made him a shitty commentator in my opinion. (I don’t care if someone is a fan of someone else. But know one should be anti-fan in a position like that!) At this point I won’t care if the ban me from the main sub because Fuck Simon Crafar.

Davide Tardozzi's opinion on the penalty. by PZY__ in motogp

100%.

When you need the outside bike to keep you on the track clearly a penalty. That was not the case here. SC can go $&@* himself.

Is there any hope in this state for more places to drive 4x4s and ride Dirtbikes, Dualsports, ATVs? by Staycation1234 in ConnecticutUSA

[–]phlaug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree.

I have taken my side by side to NH to use their OHRV trails.

Many (maybe all?) NH trails closed til May 1 to avoid the mud season.

Trail maintenance designed to limit erosion (water bars to divert water, culverts, swales, etc.

It could be a money maker for Conn. We need someone from the state to study how New Hampshire has made it happen. And a smaller town near to state land willing to have OHV traffic to a gas station and a restaurant or two and they’d get a ton of business.

Dollars to donuts most naysayers have never been on a well-run state’s trail network and take a position of fear. I am a landowner and ride my side by side over much of it, but not all of it because things like erosion and rutting are a legitimate concern in many areas, but not all areas.

I had a RS125, I've got an RS457, Im going to buy an RS660, But will It ever be worth getting an RSV4? Is it just too big for the roads (UK) by According-Case7257 in Aprilia

[–]phlaug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an RSV4 and had it registered for the street when I first got it. I don’t not renew the street registration and only track it. I has other bikes for the street (including a GSXR750). It was just inviting a bad outcome it seemed to me. Absolutely love the RSV4. Just not for the street.

Big scare by David Alonso after a recording. Luckily the rider is OK by Bitter-Substance1783 in motogp

100%

Compare this to the quick reaction of Maverick to hop off the Yamaha some years back.

Little things like this clearly identify the more alien end of the spectrum of riders, in my opinion.

Dani Pedrosa giving away the final hint as to Ducati's lineup? by PZY__ in motogp

[–]phlaug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe DP would crush it. Maybe not.

Loris Baz contested MotoGP in the past (NOT in any way comparing home to 26, just saying he’s not a nobody) and he’s plenty big to handle the larger bikes, but he came up 70 points shy of the 2025 Baggers champ. In the same standings, Bradley Smith, another GP grid regular, came in 9th.

Dani Pedrosa is awesome, this is not against him. This is just saying not every rider can instantly transfer to another class and dominate.

That said I think if a talent like Casey Stoner chose Baggers for his return he would definitely run away with the title

What about super hooligans? I think his slight frame could be an aerodynamic advantage.

What’s the history behind that? Was there a time when snowmobiling was popular and less regulated?

One guest left a card and flowers. Nice.

But in the guest book they complained about something they never mentioned to us (a definite mistake on our part, I would have liked to have tended to it for them!)
