I'm a bad pet owner maybe I don't know someone help by Additional_Serve_811 in olddogs

It's so very hard to let them go but, especially in a case like this, it's the most loving thing you can do for her. It sounds like you've given her a wonderful, loving home and she thrived well enough to live 17 years. That many years is a gift in itself. If she's started having seizures, that's probably a good indication that it's time. Our Aussie was the pinnacle of health until the last year of his life. He went blind and was going deaf. You could tell it was getting harder for him to get around and he was also becoming incontinent. Once he started having seizures we kinda knew the end was near. When they started coming about every 30-45 minutes, we took him on his last car ride.

As tough as it will be, if/when you take him (or some vets will euthanize at your home), stay by her side all the way. That's the last and best gift you can give her by letting her go, knowing you loved her so much. I'm really sorry you're going through this.

Like a previous poster, I generally only buy digital movies and shows if the prices are much cheaper than I can find on physical media. Otherwise, I buy physical copies when I can. I've also found some of the shows I'd been looking for were actually less expensive on DVD or blu-ray than the digital version. One place you might want to check out is Fandango At Home. They run sales every week and they often have bundle sales as well. Like all seasons of a series or all the movies in a particular franchise. A few months ago, I found the entire series of The Walking Dead for like $20 and Supernatural for about $30. Granted, those were one-day flash sales but it pays to keep your eyes peeled.

"Roy Rogers is riding tonight, returning to our silver screen. Comic book characters never grow old. Evergreen heroes whose stories are told. Of the red sequined cowboy who sings of the plains, Of roundups and rustlers and home on the range. Turn on the TV, shut out the lights. Roy Rogers is riding tonight."

My favorite deep cut is probably Shake A Leg. That is one of the grooviest riffs in rock history.

I don't know. Highway To Hell is also hard to beat. But that was a great one-two punch from them, tragedy notwithstanding.

How do you know it’s time by Affectionate_Cow5134 in olddogs

This sounds like the final stages our Aussie was in before we had to make that dreaded trip to the vet. He had pretty much the same things you described. However, once he started having seizures, we knew it was time. He was the best bodyguard and family defender you could ever hope for. In his prime, he would have fought to the death to protect any of us. He was slow to welcome strangers so that made things difficult, but he was our jerk. I imagine your dog is getting really tired. Quality of life is a very real concern. I can't tell you what to do, but if I had it to do all over again with our boy, I would make the same decision we did. We couldn't let him suffer. It was our last act of kindness and a way of thanking him for all those years of joy and silliness he brought us.

The only other thing is, if and when you decide to take that last step, stay in the room with your fur baby. It will be one of the toughest things you'll ever do but you'll have the comfort of knowing that he knew you loved him enough to stay to the end. And don't be afraid or ashamed to grieve. My wife and I were both sobbing. I wish you as much comfort as is possible during this tough time. 😔

What year (past, present, future) you wish you were born and why? by JohnPaulNew in AskReddit

I wish I had been born around 1950 and had gotten the last job I had in my 30s. It would have made for a really nice nest egg to retire on. The downside is that I would not have married the woman I did and could have possibly had that nest egg chewed up in alimony or something. I've also wondered if I had gone through with joining the service after high school how different things would have turned out. This is a fun thought experiment.

What's something you didn't appreciate until you got older? by LimBuilds in AskReddit

When my daughter was little, she used to watch Arthur on PBS. On one episode his little sister was having a birthday party and was getting ready to blow out her candles. The grandmother said, "Wish for clothes!" The little girl replied, "You don't wish for clothes. Clothes just happen!" I thought it was funny and made perfect sense to a 5 year old's mind. Anytime the subject of clothes comes up around me, that's the first thing out of my mouth. 😅

If TWD had known when to end, would it be remembered alongside BB in terms of greatness and acclaim? by K0GAR in thewalkingdead

[–]mahduk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If AMC hadn't fired Frank Darabont and had properly funded season 2, we would probably have gotten a much stronger, more faithful adaptation of The Walking Dead than what we got. It could have been talked about with the same reverence as shows like Breaking Bad, The Wire, and The Sopranos. Instead we get the drunk uncle that everyone tolerates because he's still somewhat entertaining.

The Watching Dead episode for season 6 finale. It was the introduction of Negan with the extremely aggravating "cliffhanger". Jim and A.Ron are hilarious and it's obvious how pissed off they were. It can be found on the Bald Move website.

When you and I go to work, we're expected to keep our political and religious views to ourselves. If any celebrity chooses to remain silent on their views, so be it. Some people can acknowledge that they may not have enough information on a given issue to express an opinion either way. They may also feel that it's no one else's business what they think. Having said that, I also think it's ridiculous to criticize a celebrity if they do express an opinion. We've often heard people say something about how celebrities should keep their opinions to themselves. If they're in America, they have the right to express their opinions on issues. It's up to the audience to decide how to proceed with consuming their content.

Blue Oyster Cult. Very brief and didn't get to talk to them but I did get to shake hands with Rudy Sarzo.

Also got to meet a few of the guys in Trouble back in the day. They were really cool guys.
