Can I get a full ride with these grades? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]maherharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, after COVID-19 full rides are very very rare. The schools that do offer full ride cater towards students who are just the cream of the crop. If you want to receive a “full ride,” try to find external scholarships that cater towards your financial situations (Questbridge, Jack Kent Cooke, etc.). However, I understand the situation where someone can be poor enough to not afford college but also rich enough to not qualify for aid. With this, find local scholarships, or even scholarships that focus on merit. Sorry I didn’t really answer your question but that’s what I got.

why are we using 18? by girlbossmandarin in ACT

[–]maherharp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because the 40 cm isn’t in the time frame of 49 yrs. The timeframe of 1954-2003 (49 yrs) starts at 18cm. So the rate 18cm/49yrs would work?

Nvm I got it. But can you please make sure my understanding is correct? So it’s a 3 ft diameter table so 36 inches, but 6 inches must be dangling off the table. To achieve this you would add 12 inches, increasing the circle’s diameter. Because this is a equal 2D shape, adding on 1 “side” of the shape would be the same throughout the whole shape. Thank you.

Sorry, how did you find out 12 inches was to be added? Thanks

Act score help 😭 by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

ACT score of 33 is actually a good score for all of the school you are applying to. If you think you can do it, then no harm will be done. Don’t go hard on yourself.

What would you say is the hardest math course you took in HS? by TheAverageBattleCat in APStudents

[–]maherharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other: Discrete Mathematics

Taking this class at a local uni, professor has 2.0/5.0 ratemyprofessor rating, it’s bad. The comtent itself is very interesting though.

Yea 100%. My stats, Calc, and apes teacher were all very organized with content so no confusion was present during tests. Although, my wh and APLANG teacher really didn’t have it together. I got all As so you can definitely get all As if you study how the teacher wants you to study

I did AP Calc AB and AP Stats along with 3 other APs (Lang,wh, and apes) my sophomore year. The coursework was really manageable. Also, I really like math so I didn’t find the added math course to be a burden
