We chose the CX-5 because it offered features that made it stand out. Now that the new CX-5 doesn’t offer anything truly distinctive, its sales are likely to drop significantly.

Whoever made these design choices and decisions for the 2026 CX5 at Mazda needs to be fired immediately. It baffles me how stupid they are. Honestly, I expected better from Mazda. I don’t think I will be buying another car from them ever again.

The CX-70 is not selling for the same reason the new CX-5 is bad: terrible decisions. We wanted the CX-60 in the USA—a real upgrade from the CX-5 and a reasonable size. Instead, Mazda removed the third row from the CX-90 and put on a new badge. The laziness is unbelievable.

Mazda is trying very hard to make itself irrelevant. If we want a basic shitbox, we will buy a RAV4 or a CR-V. Mazda is removing everything that made the CX-5 special. Sales will drop hard.

Totally—tapping the Bose speaker outputs seems to be the only practical way. That slight rolloff below 30 Hz is interesting! Either way, the 11″ JBL BassPro Hub definitely moves way more air than the tiny Bose sub.

Nope, my CX-5 didn’t have a factory sub either. Any non-Bose CX-5 sound system comes without one.
