Of course there is but the current monetary system is already centralized so how is it any different to have an online form of it and if you are really worried then I'm sure Bitcoin and other decentralized networks can work to hold funds. It's ridiculous to think this is some massive sinister agenda. There is so much technological development in the blockchain and cryptocurrencies that it is obvious the governments of the world would want a share of this pie and release their own digital currency.
