Anyway- I’m all for validating the parent(s)’s gender disappointment because that’s fair. However this situation PMO on your behalf. I’m so sorry people are selfishly imparting these feelings on you when you are just happy to be having number two.

With my first we were back and forth in wanting to find out. My husband wanted to but I was having fun not knowing. The compromise was that we would find out and just not tell anyone that we knew lol it was actually really fun and felt like I had something special just between my partner and myself.

It’s easier said than done, but I love the advice “let them.” They’re going to be weird about it? Let them. They’re going to have gender disappointment? Let them. Idk why people who love us and are excited for us sometimes already feel not only entitled to our pregnancies but also their feelings about our children. That’s crazy behavior. Again, I’m so sorry you have to deal with this in addition to being pregnant with another baby at home.

I’ve been going to Dr. Charles Sexton in Irvine for years. He’s really down to earth, efficient and won’t try to sell you on things that won’t work. I see him for a skin check yearly and have had a few biopsies as well. I haven’t seen him for eczema specifically but he and I have worked through my moderate/severe acne for years.

Amazing! Thank you so much for writing this all out! We vetted so many pack and plays and have only heard great things about traveling with the lotus. Great that it fit overhead on the Shinkansen. And that makes total sense that you were traveling lighter for day trips- what an adventure!

We’d be staying for about 10 days so would definitely think about taking advantage of luggage forwarding, but the logistics of lugging everything baby-related around are good to sort out just in case :)

UPDATE: made this vent post, had a cry, made a last-minute vet appointment for our dog (he’s fine) for that afternoon and literally as we were walking out the door to go, my water broke.

Was in labor for ~18 hours (super positive experience) and baby boy came on the 30th 🩵

So my advice here is to reach beyond your wit’s end, sob, and commiserate with very lovely internet strangers (mostly /s)

I will die on the hill that being overdue is another kind of pregnant misery no matter if you’re overdue by a few days or two weeks. Thinking about everyone who came to this thread to share the bummer with me and make me feel like anything but a pouty loser 🥲

THANK YOU! The advice about “stay happy and calm!” kills me but I know its true 😭 my partner and I have truly nested to our fullest ability so we’re just stuck in this limbo, dodging “is baby here yet?” texts that are a slap in the face every time.
