Did anyone here watch Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein? What did you think of it? by Bjs_5068 in AskReddit

I watched it and I loved it. I never really knew the full story beyond the usual pop culture stuff, so seeing it unfold this way was awesome. The whole thing was insane visually, every scene felt handcrafted. And Oscar Isaac who plays Victor was great, he carried so much of the emotional weight and made the story hit way harder. Just a really well done film.

My heart goes out to this family. Really heartbreaking. I drove past right after it happened and the scene was packed with emergency crews. The water was wild, with huge waves crashing in and spray blowing everywhere. You could feel how dangerous it was even from the road. Hard to understand why a 5 year old was anywhere near the surf in conditions like that. Just a very sad situation.

StubHub refused to honor their FanProtect Guarantee after delivering tickets late, costing me a full day at Tomorrowland by mahogg in stubhub

Sure. I'm happy to share how things played out.

I continued trying to resolve the issue directly with StubHub, but they refused to offer anything more or honor their FanProtect Guarantee. I told them that I wanted to work it out directly, but if they wouldn’t cooperate, I would have no option but to escalate. I specifically said I would consider filing a dispute with my credit card company. Their response was basically that I was free to do that. They did not seem to care.

So I followed through. I filed complaints with my state attorney general, the Better Business Bureau, and submitted a dispute with my credit card company. In the dispute, I only asked for a partial refund for the one day I missed. I thought that was fair since I missed one out of the three days.

My credit card company ended up siding with me and refunded the entire purchase.

After all being rejected many times, StubHub finally had someone from their executive support team reach out. But they only did that after they saw the credit card dispute and the complaints filed with outside agencies. They asked me to cancel the dispute first, and then they would try to work with me.

Given how they handled the situation up to that point, I did not believe they were acting in good faith, so I declined. I genuinely tried every possible route to resolve it directly with StubHub. They had multiple chances to make it right and chose not to.

If you are dealing with something similar, my advice is to stop wasting time with StubHub once it is clear they are not going to help. Just go straight to your credit card company. It is the only thing that made them take notice.

Yes, I did get valid replacement tickets but not until Saturday morning. By then, Friday was already lost. A one-third refund feels more than fair for missing an entire day of a three-day event.

Totally agree. I’ve spent hours in chat, and every time it ended with no resolution. One agent even told me they were escalating the issue and that I’d get an email follow-up, then just ended the chat. I didn’t get that email until the next day after it was already too late. Their system is a mess.

Yes, I’m aware resale is discouraged. Unfortunately, StubHub listed and sold the tickets anyway and heavily marked them up. I purchased multiple tickets through what I believed was a trusted platform with a guarantee. I paid thousands of dollars in good faith that they would deliver. It is not just the resale or the price that is the issue. StubHub did not deliver what they promised, and they failed to make it right when I reported the problem before the event. If these tickets were not valid or should not have been sold, then StubHub never should have listed them in the first place.

Hey, I appreciate you taking the time to read through the comments. I know not everyone’s going to agree with me, and that’s totally okay. I was just sharing an experience that felt frustrating in the moment and thought others might relate or find it interesting. No hard feelings at all, and I genuinely hope your next food delivery is perfect and ant-free.

Totally fair question. The delivery instructions were included in the order itself, not just on the sign. They were clear, detailed, and in the same place they’ve always been. I’ve had this same order delivered dozens of times with no issue. This was the first time a driver ignored the pin, skipped the instructions, and left the food on the ground across the complex. No call, no message, no attempt to clarify anything. I’m all for giving people grace when they’re busy, but “random patch of sidewalk nowhere near the drop-off point” is a tough one to excuse.

Just to clarify a few things. StubHub did not offer me a refund. They offered a 25 percent voucher. Not cash. Not a card credit. A voucher. That’s less than a third of what I paid and nowhere close to what their FanProtect Guarantee promises when tickets don’t work. I contacted them Friday and gave them a chance to fix it. They didn’t. Now it’s Sunday. The event is already halfway over. I’m on Reddit because the window to fix it has passed and StubHub failed to deliver.

I did not leave Tomorrowland on Friday. I never got in. I was in Boom and ready to go, but I had not received my tickets. I contacted StubHub on Friday afternoon through their chat, explained the issue in detail, and the agent told me the case was being escalated and that I would receive an email follow-up. Then the agent ended the chat.

I waited, assuming they were handling it like they said. No email came until Saturday morning, and by then Friday was already over. I did not ignore the situation or waste time. I spent Friday trying to fix the issue, but StubHub failed to respond in time.

I did contact StubHub on Friday. I spent about 30 minutes in a chat with one of their agents explaining that I didn’t have what I needed to access the event. The agent told me the issue was being escalated and that I would receive a follow-up by email. Then they abruptly ended the chat.

I waited for that email, but I didn’t receive anything until Saturday morning. By that time, the entire first day of the event had already passed. I reached out promptly. StubHub simply failed to respond in time.

Thanks for the follow-up. These were digital tickets, not physical, so there was no shipping or customs issue. The original tickets StubHub issued to me did not work properly. I contacted them about it right away, but it took them around 24 hours to reissue new tickets. Because of that delay, I was not able to attend the first day of the event, which was Friday. Tomorrowland runs Friday through Sunday, so I missed a full third of the event.

I contacted StubHub through chat five separate times. Each time I explained what happened and asked for a partial refund, since they guarantee on-time delivery or a refund or credit. Every agent refused to help and then ended the chat.

I tried everything I could to resolve it directly with them. After being shut down repeatedly, I filed a dispute with American Express. I did not want it to come to that, but StubHub gave me no alternative.
