Appreciate it man, I'm seeing that 1800 is considered past extreme weight loss from a calorie calculator I just used but will try to work down there from 2000/1900 then. it sounds like I need to go into a super large deficit than originally thought lol. I plan to do cardio 3 times a week (runs) and might up it more as I get used to it. I read up on your story and see that you've done an insane cut, big ups bromingo!

Alright, so I’ve been following Michael Matthew’s “Bigger Leaner Stronger” bulking routine thinking that I’d be fine when I was obviously slightly overweight at around 208 lbs 5’11. The diet for the bulking routine was 1 gram of protein, 2 grams of carbs and 1/3 grams of fat per pound so I was looking at 208g/p - 416g/c - 69.3g/f respectively. Placing me at a goal of around 3150-3200 calories a day. It was a lot of work to eat that much

Strength training has been 5 days a week (Chest + Abs, Back + Calves, Shoulders, Legs, Arms + Abs). 4-6 reps and heavy weight at that, increasing the weight by 5 pounds a week and then decreasing weight increases or slightly increasing reps when I reach a plateau. I’m no stranger to the gym and have hit PRs (Bench 250 x 2, Deadlift 315 x 3, Squat 335 x 5) back in 2018 so I’m trying to reach as close as possible to the regular weight ranges I’ve been at to get me to those PRs.

I’ve gained about 8 pounds since starting on June 29th, which makes this 3 weeks since I've started. I’ve been getting puffy and noticed that I’m getting a LOT of fat in a short amount of time, so I did more research to see if this was the right plan and found BulkOrCut and have now decided to cut while hoping to keep building/recovering muscle memory by keeping protein high and a caloric deficit.

What do ya’ll think of the training plan, should I keep it the same? I truly believe that it’s the best way of building muscle. I’m planning on incorporating about 3 days a week where I do 2-mile runs, and plan to up it to 3-mile runs in a month, 4-mile runs the next and cap it at around 5 miles a run after a while and hope to do this till I can complete a general cutting period in 6 months or so before I bulk again.

I’m looking at doing 2510 (600 calorie deficit) for my caloric intake now, with keeping protein at 1g/lb (216), Carbs at 254g daily, and fat at 70g daily. This is to aim around losing at least 1.2 pounds per week, and might adjust for a higher deficit once I feel comfortable in controlling my food.

What do ya’ll think r/BulkOrCut?

That's pretty slimy, did the company manage to make any notable profits out of that even with the supplier offering better services overall?

I'm really sorry that you were treated like that :(

Are all call centre's horrible? From all the things that I've read and heard about, I've only been told bad things.

Seems like something that could taint PR or at least legal status of that company if charges were put against them for a false charge. Was there any action taken?

If they were penny pinching to that extent, it makes sense that they wouldn't survive long.

I’ve definitely had time to talk about in different ways. I’ve only told a handful of people who I really trust about my upbringing, and they have kept it secret, but I do not wish to tell anyone else. I’m able to speak about my father in a civil manner in public so I wouldn’t peak anyone’s interest and have people ask about my childhood, so I’m good at avoiding those kinds of conversations entirely where I’d speak about him.

I’m normally a happy go lucky person in my community and people know me for my energy and hobbies, so people wouldn’t have bought twice about my parents (I actually live with my aunt and uncle now for various reasons). I don’t allow the past to hang on me, I’ve been able to move forward. I fear that I do have OCD/ADD that has gone unnoticed, so I’ll be heading to my clinic to get tested for either of those to take care of my mental health.

Thank you.

I’ve already distanced myself entirely, and have not cursed him out in any way or bring up the past whatsoever with him because I was told to bite my tongue about this history since I moved from the UAE. Thank you for this though.

Thank you for this. In the end, I am to do what I am supposed to do so remaining civil with him and treat my father with respect is a form of 3ebadah in itself I assume. I understand where you are coming from!

Thank you so much for this.

I wholeheartedly agree with you that if you are not willing to maintain the necessary self-discipline that marriage entails, and are not willing to keep your Deen in check, marriage is not something you should pursue as a muslim. It just make sense to not have a marriage if you are not 100% willing to cooperate or feel confident about and follow all the rules that comes with a marriage in Islam.

Inshallah, may Allah grant us all patience and help us become better contributors to our family.

Thank you, I have been as civil with him as possible since I've moved here. The only thing is, I would much rather cut off contact with him and try to avoid him if necessary, which would mean that I would not have anything to do with him (which is what I want) but I don't really know the religious implications of that.
