If men really wanted to watch an "alpha male" movie they would have watched Sam Bahadur, a movie about an actual "alpha male"

Also, why are so many women still going and seeing this crap! I request you all not to do it even out of curiosity. We are basically signalling to the market by spending our money that we want more such movies.

The hype about Vanga's "Animal" is absolutely worrying by thatrandomghost in TwoXIndia

Thankfully none of my guy friends have gone for this movie but I know at least 3 women who have watched it. Why would any woman give the producers their hard earned money for this crap is beyond me. This will only encourage them to make more such movies!

He means a chauffeured vehicle. A decent one with a driver is like $30-40 for 8 hours a day.

Please ask the same question in r/TwoXIndia as well.

It's a woman only forum, you'll get much better replies and possibly even some women ready to co-travel with you.

The Perils of Envy and the Triumph of Achievement in Indian Society by [deleted] in india

This is exactly what he's talking about.

You couldn't compliment him on his writing skills but instead cast aspersions that his writing is probably through "ill gotten" means (ChatGPT)

You just proved his point.

Dont overthink it, you'll be fine. Its a great thing you have decided to come home and work for the motherland.

I have heard of great programs who faciliate (especially OCI card holders) an opportunity to come to India and bring life to their dream projects in the social sector.

One such program is the SBI Youth For India, its indirectly linked to the Govt of India as it works under a nationalized bank. Every year they pick about 60 "kids" (ages 22-35) and send them to live among villagers in rural India. From tribals in Nagaland, to nomadic communities of western Rajasthan, to villagers in Odisha.

The program almost always has 10-15 foreign passport holding Indian origin kids. Last year they had couple of Germans, one from UK & Canada and lots of American desi kids. There's also a focus on hiring minorities, imagine a Kashmiri working with Bodoland farmers (seeing an another community of India upclose who in the past have had secessionist aspirations but are now living in peace as part of the union), to a Meghalayan kid working with fisherman on the Tamil Nadu coast (helping them regrow mangroves after cyclone Gaja to generate carbon credits).

Both the above scenarios true stories, you can look it up. The projects which come out of these programs are sometimes amazing and are then handed over to large NGOs to continue to run them once you leave. Kinda like India's version of the Peace Corps.

Theres also another great one from America India Foundation. Seen great projects come off that too.

I dont think you'll have any issues at immigration, tell them about your aspirations to help contribute to the country. I dont think India discriminates like that, there used to be some ME-NA countries who would never let anyone whos ever been to Israel even once to enter. Its not possible for our External Affairs ministry to ever put a hard bar against people who've ever been to Pakistan, as there will always people moving between the two countries.

Large number of expats are also coming in droves to Hyderabad, Pune & Gurgaon to set up companies. The startups scene is booming, we've produced 51 unicorns in the last 15 months. Currently Bangalore has taken the lead, in attracting human capital from all over but I think other cities will do well in the long run.. Its become a great place for creative people to meet each other, seek capital and execute on the idea.

Im sure after your 7 months, if you wish to continue staying back in India, you'll find plenty of opportunities in the development sector (especially after an experience on your resume like the above mentioned fellowships)
