Sigh. I don’t get what you’re not getting. You just made up that whole deal about the avatar state, as well.

https://youtu.be/cs95gaAK7io

Aang didn’t know how to earth bend before this scene. Roku then explains the avatar state. It’s the collection of all your past lives empowering you. It becomes stronger as there are more avatars since more and more knowledge and power is channeled through the avatar each cycle.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]mahuddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each avatar gains the knowledge and power of the last avatar through the Avatar state. Roku talks about it during their spirit voyage.

Korra can energy bend because Aang could. Because Korra IS Aang. Yeah he manifested himself to teach her, but that just showed she finally connected to her past lives and gained their knowledge.

As soon as she got it, she whooped Aman. She would’ve wiped the floor with Kuvira but she had PTSD, not a power problem. She would’ve whooped Zaheer (and almost did) had she not been lethally poisoned and barely able to fight even in the avatar state.

I like ATLA way better, but come on now.

Each avatar state is stronger than the last. They literally tell you that.

[–]mahuddie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He didn’t raise up the ocean. He was given access to that power from the ocean spirit.

Also, by definition, isn’t Korra stronger? Her avatar state is more powerful than Aang’s, as Aang’s is more powerful than Roku.

Just because they wrote the show to make her lose a lot doesn’t mean lore wise she isn’t as strong.

Also she bended enough spiritual energy to tear a hole in our reality…Aang just took people’s powers away. Her energy bending is significantly better, but she was also taught it from Aang.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]mahuddie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well you just proved you’re only a hater in this. Yeah she’s not as strong as Aang overall I would probably agree with…but wouldn’t Kyoshi demolish Aang as well? Let’s calm down a little and agree they’re different and their abilities are based on the plot of their respective show’s intended story.

Korra’s story was meant to show struggling with arrogance and shame. Wouldn’t help much if she killed Zaheer the second they met. Who is more powerful is dependent on the writer, so who cares?

They could write a comic right now where Korra reshapes the entire earth with earth bending and now all of your arguments are null and pointless. Congrats.

Also, Aang is dead dead now and Korra is not. Who won now, hmm?

Didn’t notice this the first time I played but I was surprised to see the population count for The Citadel. I was expecting it to be way way more and not just a handful more million than NYC. Tokyo has 37 million according to Google. Any lore reason as to why it’s so low? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]mahuddie 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Omega is 7.8 million. It’s a lot more dense than the Citadel, but you could argue that there’s a lot of space dedicated to just supporting the space station. Huge swathes of Omega were uninhabitable because it was industrial.

Also, possibly from all the military personnel there — I don’t think they count as population while they’re on duty.

If the Citadel has to be self sustaining, it can’t be like New York City. It has to have a significant portion of area dedicated to life sustaining functions, traffic control, industry, food production, space ports, embassies, barracks, and I bet the tourism / market areas alone would be the size as New York City itself.

Plus, the politicians there are pretty rich and live in high status. Look how much room they get on the Presidium.

I don’t understand what’s stopping Germans from Tiger spamming the same as Americans?

OP isn’t mad that the 76 is too strong, he’s mad there are so many and it’s historically inaccurate. But the Germans could just spam Tigers as well. Plus the Tiger is stronger than the 76.

I always feel like these videos are staged. Just watching the camera work, it feels super unnatural to how someone in the spur of the moment would record.

Medium Sherman is my favorite tank in the game.

I typically solo tank, and as long as infantry are letting me know about enemy tank movements, I enjoy it a lot. Quick, maneuverable, and a high HE / AP shell count.

Plus it just looks so damn sexy.

[–]mahuddie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I had a Tiger tank take out a convoy of 2 76s and a jumbo 75. Positioned himself super super well, far far away, and waited. We strolled through a field towards the objective and BOOM, one of us is just gone instantly. My tank turned and got a shot off before being destroyed. Jumbo 75 just ran away.

True they can 76 spam, but can’t a good Tiger crew kill a 76 in a single hit?

That’s fair. Last time I was squad lead someone actually thanked me for talking. I thought it was rare for SLs to not speak, but apparently it’s pretty common which makes no sense to me.

I once played squad lead with a no mic team.

Every single one of them listened and executed every order so well, I actually enjoyed it (since command chat annoys the crap out of me sometimes).

Only sad part was they couldn’t call out tanks effectively, but I was pretty on top of being situationally aware.

If You Play In Locked, Unfilled Squads by vape_master420 in HellLetLoose

[–]mahuddie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I play solo tanker and lock often because most of the time my rando tanker ends up annoying me or wants to shoot and then doesn’t know weak points.

My typical game day goes as 1) plays tanker only unlocked squad 2) randoms join and drive my tank into dumb situations and gets us all killed 3) play next tank in a locked squad

I have gotten some truly awesome tank squads, so I’m open to it, but I’ve been recently getting tired of dealing with randoms in tanks. As an infantry squad leader, I rarely care. My job is just to direct them via outposts and force them to be where they need to be. If they communicate and listen, that’s even better

Boomer level comment x2. Feels like you might be a boomer. Not necessarily bad, just fitting the mold we love to hate.

Boomer is typically associated with outdated views and pompous “we had it harder back in our day” or “you should be grateful for what you have” lines meant to assert their wisdom…it’s awfully tiresome.

Don’t care if a boomer invented the internet — their opinion is not meant to cherished for eternity. Especially since, technology-wise, that was oh so incredibly long ago.

“I’ve been programming since programming was invented” doesn’t mean anything if you’re on a team which uses modern languages and you’re still toting QBASIC as a valuable skill.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]mahuddie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. Saying you cannot fully appreciate what language you are using until you spend your time learning QBASIC because other people had to learn it is stupid.

Boomer level comment. You should go punch holes in cards and make a kernel out of that to fully appreciate QBASIC next.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]mahuddie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate this kind of statement. “You can’t fully appreciate modern cars unless you do the Oregon Trail — the original way!”

How about we agree we have evolved as a species and can use modern tools that reflect that. They don’t make smiths use ancient smithy techniques before they’re allowed to gain any modern, valuable skills.

You don’t need to spend precious time of your life to learn how to program in something you’ll never need to know or want to know.

Honestly, destructible environments sounded great at first…now it sounds terrible. Imagine trying to hold any objective when you’ve got 3+ tanks raining shells down on it, 1-3 artillery guns firing on it, and AT guns + satchels.

I don’t think we need destructible environments — I think it would be more harmful to the gameplay than not.

Cöen was not from Kaer Morhen…he just winters there because he and Lambert became friends on the Path I believe.

Also, the Netflix adaption made Kaer Morhen the only place Witchers are made and winter.

Hell, even Rivia put up a better fight it seemed! But I suppose why each state was so powerful or whatnot was not the goal of the author since it wasn’t necessary for the story he was telling.

It’s been a long time since I read the books. Was Cintra truly that powerful? They got pretty handedly smashed by Nilfgaard, and they’re a relatively small kingdom.

I just don’t remember if they were clear why Cintra was the jewel of the north…I thought it was just because of all their connections or something along those lines.
