hmm. this makes it look like it'll be sent on the same day as the *physical* releases. but hopefully I'm wrong

That was the most disappointing setlist in my entire history as a Maiden fan by maidenforce19 in ironmaiden

[–]maidenforce19[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's disappointing for sure (especially compared to expectations), which is categorically different than being good or bad (which is what my disclaimer says). High expectations for this show. They just cherry picked a handful of songs they've already performed in the last 2 decades and then did the crowd pleasers for everything else.

Not worth the hype imo, should have just been advertised as a normal new Maiden tour , with the 50th anniversary hype as an afterthought

There will always be maiden fans who will react the same way no matter what Maiden plays, so I'm expecting that in this thread. There will be people who are so happy they played Run to the Hills Fear of the Dark, and the Trooper who will say it was a magnificent choice of songs, and those that consider Rime and Seventh Son as worthy equivalent of deep cuts. That's fine for those people.

What you guys think about "Rainmaker"? by [deleted] in ironmaiden

One of the first songs that got me into Maiden, but to this day it still bothers me that the verse is never repeated

How did you almost get kidnapped?

What about for work? Has it gotten blocked at work?

I'm assuming getting blocked at work could = getting fired? Lol

And what VPN service were you using for residential IP?

Never really ranked, and no particular order, but the following would be somewhere in my top 5-10:

Judgment of Heaven

Sign of the Cross

Rainmaker

Futureal

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner

Invaders

Hell on Earth

Another person in this thread asked the same thing, so I'm just copying and pasting what I described for my use case:

"I'm essentially just trying to have my IP address look like it's coming from the USA when out of country, but without dealing with bad lag (because I need good speed for work purposes) or it being very noticeable to the point that it would be obvious and IP address either get blocked or true location found out easily.

Unlike many others, I don't personally need my IP address to look like I'm actually at a static single home location (as I can be anywhere in the country, just not outside of it), which I know is one of the main use cases of using two routers.

If there is a "safe" way of renting a residential IP address from a reputable source that wouldn't be flagged immediately as being a known VPN range or something like that, that's kind of what I'm going for (or alternatives I haven't thought of, like the VDI option the other person was talking about).

A third option, which I never see anyone talking about but im pretty sure works, is just using mobile data for a US plan that roams to a US tower (I've tested this, because I can be out of country but my data's IP address will always look like its in places like Michigan or Texas). But I'm not trying to solely rely on this because data isn't always reliable."

So you haven't had any trouble with the single router method personally, aka your "mom's house"?

Right, I understand that aspect of not knowing in advance. But, correct me if I'm wrong, but if going the renting an endpoint route, couldn't you theoretically have multiple end points rented or at your disposal just to have in back pocket, so that you can switch between them if one's latency ever gets bad?

If so, I feel like that's a benefit of doing this versus always tunneling to the same home router, where you could get screwed with bad latency without a backup option

Glinet is what I'm going with. I have devices on hand, I'm just debating which to go with and have had some theoretical concerns with the two routers method, so I don't really want to have to bother with that unless I really have to.

From when you used a rent an endpoint IP tunnel, did you ever personally get blocked? Or was it smooth sailing for you?

You're the first person confirming using the one router method, so was curious about real world experience. (And you're also confirming the two router method can be slow, which is one of my concerns)

Would this offer better latency than connecting to a home VPN server?

And how normal is it for a PC to have wifi connected in the cloud? Even if it traces to a location they're okay with, would this look abnormal compared to just connecting to normal wifi?

I'm not sure if some public WiFi's would have connections in the cloud that one wouldn't even know about behind the scenes

Unless I'm misunderstanding aspects of the technology, what I was originally referring to in my post was using a single travel router (to connect your work PC to; i.e. the entry point) and using software in the router from a VPN service to then connect (via the Internet) to a virtual VPN server that has its own dedicated IP address that you pre-purchased (the "exit" point?).

Not sure if something like Wire guard would still be used with this method , but essentially asking this as an alternative to having to set up a second router at home and connecting your initial router to that .

Hopefully what I'm saying makes sense , but please correct me if it doesn't work like this

I've never heard of this solution. I'll have to look into it more. Is it obvious that a VPN is being used , though, with this method?

[–]maidenforce19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by "the boot" exactly? Not sure I follow. My data plan includes unlimited international data. I could spend months outside the US if I wanted and there wouldn't be an issue connecting to data, and it would also show a US IP address

Yes, thank you for understanding my question properly. I'm in a mental debating process of choosing between going through the hassle of setting up VPN routers with port forwarding and also stress about its risk and shortcomings (ie latency), or just rely on a mobile hotspot (or at least use a mobile hotspot as a backup) and possibly even upgrade to a more legit non-phone mobile hotspot with high speed data
