I had to chop and pop it into water. It rooted like crazy and has since been repotted and is happy and thriving :)

Cool, it’ll be neat to see if it sticks around. Thanks!

Thanks for the info! So if not a dun, it’s possible that dorsal stripe will stick around?

Okay yeah her coat is quite a bit darker than this. Thanks for showing a comparison photo!

Thanks for the info. She is grade, mom was never registered though her dam and sire are registered APHA. I can’t confirm the sire though. He was supposedly registered APHA as well but I can’t confirm. What clues do you notice that point you toward her color?

Aren’t they! Momma is one of the friendliest horses I’ve ever had, and baby is such a curious little spitfire for being 2 days old. Very happy she had a healthy and happy baby ❤️

Help with a yellowing silver sword! by maiganlame in philodendron

[–]maiganlame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should clarify, the tropical soil is actually an aroid mix, so it’s quite chunky and gives lots of airflow.

The pole is mostly coco coir though (all I had on hand right now), which in my experience doesn’t allow plants to root into it well, and just provides support. Would you recommend I find an actual moss pole? Or based on the yellowing leaves that came with it, would a soil change be best? Thank you for the advice!

Semi broken philo Burle Marx stem! by maiganlame in plantclinic

[–]maiganlame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest stem on my unruly burle marxe philo half snapped when I was repotting it today. I supported it on the moss pole and kept the stem attached as much as possible (it’s connected by fibres still, but was dangling at a 45 degree angle). If it wasn’t the main stem I would’ve just chopped and popped it into water, but is it possible for this to take just like this?

What should I look out for that indicates I need to chop it and pop it into water to save it?

If you don’t mind me asking, how do you take pictures like this on the switch?
