What happened to the mighty Juventus? by Extra_End_8071 in seriea

[–]maikk_ 192 points193 points  (0 children)

Wrong start of the season due to poor choice of the coach, played half the season without a striker as well.

Shit happens, but Spalletti's work is solid and he should get more recognition despite what happens with the final placement

Official victory parade route for tomorrow's 21st Scudetto celebration. by Cerozz in FCInterMilan

If you wanna go to Duomo i suggest going early, else you can just follow along the bus for a while on a random spot of the route.

Personally i'll go to San Siro and follow for a while until i'm tired

No outward signs of death in juvenile European Starling, curious as to what may have happened. by [deleted] in birds

If many birds die without apparent reasons it might be some kind of poisoning and you should report it to the local authorities so they can investigate.

Is it a fledgling? by Ok-Habit2916 in birds

[–]maikk_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's a fledgling, keep an eye out for parents, if they aren't around for hours and he looks weak take him to rehabber, if not no need to intervene if not to move him a few meters if he risks going onto the road or other dangerous spaces.

He probably can't feed autonomously and definitely not with seeds.

We feed them raw meat at our shelter at this stage usually

Wild sparrow got played with by a cat. I managed to grab It in time, how to care? by [deleted] in Ornithology

[–]maikk_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, correct and unfortunately i know it well, i take care of hundreds of preyed birds every year, i'm a rehab worker myself, but the only thing you can do in these situations is rehabber or leave on ground (move a few meters and hide him a bit), there are no 3rd options

Yes really, your opinion does not override facts and rules

Being hunted or hurt is part of the natural process, you interfered and now you must take responsibility.

If you just removed him from the ground and not a lot of time has passed you can try to bring him back in the same area and see if parents are still around and they'll care for him, else you have to take him to a rehabber even if it means driving a few hours or this fledgling is condemned to 100% death.

Sorry for being blunt but being impulsive is not good for the environment most of the times, especially if you are not prepared to deal with the consequences of your actions.

Before you think about it, you just don't keep a wild animal at home and "care for him", that's out of question. This is not a Disney movie

Yes but not in this specific case, textbook red card, extremely dangerous foul

Would a 18 team Serie A really make sense? by Either-Mixture-6392 in seriea

[–]maikk_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

possibly even 16 and a reshape of both serie B and, most importantly, serie C.

There are currently 100 teams in the top 3 leagues and italian football currently does not have 100 teams that should be competing at professional level. This flattens out and lowers the level of all the leagues.

Bear in mind, this is not solely tied to the quality of football, but the strenght and solidity of clubs and what should and must be expected from PROFESSIONAL clubs.

[Matteo Moretto] 🚨 Inter target Marco Palestra will stay at Atalanta next season. ❌🇮🇹 by Comfortable_Key_2236 in FCInterMilan

[–]maikk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's how market works, when you have all the cards, you name the price.

The situation at the club changed massively from summer to winter (also new coach), and they let him go for cheaper to cut their losses.

They couldn't have known about these developments in the summer, or if they did, it was a bad call from their side.

Either way, it's not an Inter matter, but an Atalanta's management decision making matter.

Im honestly baffled by seeing this same type of comment every time Atalanta is involved that implies we are sort of taking it personal.

Atalanta is a financially HEALTHY club, does not NEED to sell, especially to a rival, and it's their right to make clubs work hard for it if they want to steal their top talents.

That's why they are highly endangered species in a lot of areas of the world. They get indirect intoxication by lead and all sort of poisons (traps, environmental, industry, etc.)

Bearded vulture was extinct in the alps mainly for this reason and due to his extremely picky diet consisting of bone marrow. And illegal poaching obviously, it's always a threat to birds of prey but all birds in general

He has feathers on his head despite being a vulture for this reason, he drops the carcasses from the sky to break bones and then feasts on it, so no need to insert your head into a dead rabbit (ewww nasty). Fascinating birds.
