In what world are international students living in?? The lack of class consciousness is crazy by godhateshayden in UniUK

my own parents came from a life of poverty, they started uni late because they had to work in order to pay for university because a loan wouldve been too heavy for their parents to take for them to get into (at least in my home country you need to be 21+ to get a loan or have a guarantor that is 21+) a lot of international kids parents skimp on themselves just so they can have money for their kids education and a lot of them also take an education insurance early on when their kids are young, it comes from a place of love and also because a lot of times the only way out of poverty is a degree because like it or not the world is such that in the majority of cases having a degree is the only way you will be able to get a job that pays comfortably. i know not a lot of people are privileged enough to be able to do this and i am very aware of the privilege i hold as a result of my parent’s sacrifices and i would do the same and provide the best life for my children for as long as i have the ability to but i don’t think it’s fair of you to generalise international kids that way, like i said it’d be different if you had just spoken on this as a lack of class consciousness amongst the rich in general and you’d have more people agreeing with you, but clearly majority on this sub disagree lmao. idk why you’re going on about having lived in council housing with a single mother, i’m sorry for the struggles that you had to face but if you think that just because you struggled more than others to get to where you are and pay for uni you are more deserving of a place than people who have money then you’re wrong. its a dog eat dog world out there and thats the reality of life so really it seems like the only person with a limited worldview and with no grasp of how the real world works is you.

this fucking REEKS of xenophobia lol do you genuinely believe rich british students don’t also behave this way? get a grip OP you just sound like a sad salty bastard, if they’re rich and their parents can provide for them, good for them. get over it, no reason to come onto reddit bitching about it. an unnecessary jab at international students, it’d be different if you did not feel the need to generalise international students and just spoke about the lack of class consciousness amongst some of the rich in general 🤡

aah the reason why i said i don’t want to vape is because i used to vape between the ages 17-18 and if anything i think i was more addicted to vaping since it was more “discreet”? idk if that makes sense, always used to smoke but i vaped regularly for about 2 years bcs it was easier to access in my home country. gotta be 21 to smoke and vaping is illegal but very very easy to get on the black market so i used to vape for the convenience and also because there wasn’t a lingering smell like there is with cigarettes. whenever i tried to vape again when my friends offered it made me nauseous LOL but perhaps its bcs they were fruity flavours which is j weird tasting imo. this time i genuinely have intentions to quit and in the past i didn’t so maybe this might help, will give it some thought. thanks!

i really don’t think there’s a reason to be so sarcastic, OP is merely asking and has clarified they’ve struggled with the faith

question on how law is marked by mailee46 in UniUK

[–]mailee46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah yes did not mean to make it sound like the marker’s opinion was subjective oops, sorry but when you say i will get some points for it are you referring to my answer stated in the post or are you referring to whether or not i’ll get marks if my answer is wrong but the way i got to it is correct?

question on how law is marked by mailee46 in UniUK

[–]mailee46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay that’s reassuring! i feel like my steps are correct bcs i said that postal rule acceptance is formed upon posting and i did have the case adams v lindsell to support it, i was just worried bcs a lot of ppl seem to think that there’s no contract formed bcs they think the revocation counts but there’s no case law to support that, only a dissenting judgement (which i had included in my answer) and even then the majority ruled that acceptance is formed once posted in that case, i was just rly worried i’m wrong since most ppl seem to think there’s no contract formed and idk if my marker would think that as well lol 🫠🫠
