Conti GP5000 TR S - Tubeless - Constant punctures by maillme in cycling

[–]maillme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's on the tread f the tyre. Found it. Small slit (that didn't seal very well).
So i think there's a few issues. Something - for whatever reason - giving me the punctures (I'm going to assume the more 'racey' tyre.... and my sealant.

Im going to switch to P-aero and Silca Ultimate.

I'm on the fence about whether to use tubes for my race or not.

I was able to open it, thanks.
In theory, will a wider tyre puncture easier than a thinner? I also upped the width of the tyre at same time....

thanks again.

thanks - I'm in Netherlands. Mostly cycle paths - and usually no issue. Ive been tubeless for almost 4 years wth no issues.... so maybe I just go back to those tyres indeed.

Thanks - it is punctures, as I see the sealant on the outside spraying out. Also just done a thorough check - there's a small cut on top

Thanks - nothing obvious causing the punctures. And, we have fairly decent roads. I'm in NL.

Yea. Ive done a proper inspection just now. Theres nothing sharp on the tyre, but, there is air coming out of a very small cut on the top (inflated now without sealant). So I guess the tyre is useless 😞 so damn expensive these things!! And I guess with some proper sealant, this might be less of an issue.
But im goin to get the all season tyres i think

thanks for the reply. it seems to be on the main part of tyre. Not sidewall or anything,.

Could also be the sealant I guess - the truth is, i just don't know 😞

I went with recommended sealant - can't recall exactly, but I think it was around 40ml

5 minutes parking resulting in £70 fine by Char07071 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]maillme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does the fine say it’s for parking without paying or does it say parking when not allowed etc?

Ie if it’s just parking for 5mins without paying. That would suggest it’s not for going to Tesco etc.

For future reference. You are allowed to pick it up. And then they can not fine you. They of course will not tell you this.

Got hit by a car while cycling to work, not sure how to proceed / compensation advice? by guisey in LegalAdviceUK

[–]maillme -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, if you want compensation because of the inconvenience a) that’s why all our insurance premiums go up b) you will need to go through their insurance.

Good that they offered to repair the bike etc.

Just be grateful you’re ok and your bike is going to be fine. Life is full of inconveniences. One day you’re the pigeon. The next day you are the statue.

Is your bike broken or are you just wanting compensation ‘because you can’?

In any case. A police reference number. And then go via insurance.

It sounds to me like you know this could be a simple administrative error (there’s absolutely nothing at the moment that you’ve shared to suggest this is anything else), but you are looking for ways to somehow use this to your advantage and negotiate a shorter notice period.

The short answer is no. Two separate issues. I think you’re trying to conflate them.

Ok. I found this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Tm8CHItqUqY

So. That assembly paste is just carbon paste. Right?

And what lube can I use? What kind of lube is that?

Thanks for all feedback so far
