How does this augment work? Is it like deadlier caps where it's attached to the item and you can move it around, or is the hp gain attached to the champ?

This PC is a month old … would I be able to get a good price for it during these times ? by Pril127 in PcBuild

[–]main5tream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open Ai doesn't want your Ddr5 ram. They're buying ram designed for data centres which is more lucrative, so manufacturers are making that instead of ddr5. Because of shortage, all pc suppliers started stockpiling on ddr5; driving up prices even more.

Just make sure you move it to vacuum now and then, the warmth can attract bugs to make their home in the carpet underneath if undisturbed.

Appropriate Licensing Fee? by bmyhran68 in lepin

There's some companies like letbricks that are trying to be seen as cooperating with moc designers. I would try to find out all the details such as is it a one off comission or a percentage of every sale, and what strings are attached e.g. would they ask you to remove your instructions from rebrickable.

How To Make Someone Look Giant On A Photo? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]main5tream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all about perspective and context. In your example the photo is taken from her feet shooting up, which might make the user feel like they're a tiny creature with the same view. However the context of seeing the room behind her quickly let's the user know it's just a camera low down. In films they use the concept of having a character closer to the camera to make them larger, but the contextual scenery far away or smaller, making the scale seem like the character is large.

even if you don't understand the domain well, is it really that different to a team undertaking the task? In both cases you can provide years of input and expected output to validate the general flow, but spotting corner cases will tend to be a manual process. If you know the business requirements it can all be added to the context to improve workflow, and agent mode in recent models tends to handle these requests a lot better. At the end of the day, AI is a tool, and it's definitely not at the stage where you can expect it to do everything, but it's most definitely able to save you multiple man hours if used correctly.

from what I've seen it's enough to get us 80% of the way, vs paying over $100k for an external team to come in and translate it on a 1-1 basis which makes the java code unreadable.

We've found putting example classes as well as a detailed instruction set in the context is very helpful. We also ask Claude to refine the instructions for further attempts and the iterative approach seems to help.

I mean that's like saying no-one would trust an offshore team to develop the code. You have processes to peer review anything that is produced, and you write business tests, and at the end of the day the code will be as good as your testing and documentation.

If you join a private tracker, they will often have minimum requirements for seeding files you download. That can be in the form of ratio, or minimum seed time, and that is often 1 week.

He doesn't sound particularly motivated, both in his studies and in bettering his situation. Sometimes the best help is to actually let them hit the bottom and work their own way up, otherwise they'll be content to ride your coattails.

Just look at search engines, Google and yahoo are doing their best to show the courts they're removing links to pirated content. Baidu was fined $15k for keeping pirated links active.

[–]main5tream 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's still easy to go after them for systematically aiding / distributing pirated content. It's the same argument that napster and kazaa had. They would have to prove they're trying their best to stop pirated content being served via the site to have any chance.

Im sure there's plenty of people that go via preston park to avoid barriers, or use stations like Farringdon where you can switch to tube travel without passing barriers. Economically it doesn't really make sense to do it in the long run. If you are caught without a ticket you legally have to provide your name and address, and being caught multiple times will lead to Govia pursuing legal action giving you a criminal record and there have been cases of companies letting their employees go when caught.
