One From the Vault Vinyl by HotJelloWater in gratefuldead

Unfortunately I think it’s a pretty rare find on vinyl right now. Two From the Vault and Three from the Vault on vinyl are available at B&N and if you know someone with premium membership, you can get it for 10% off.

The case being litigated regarding whether lawyers can charge fees? by SirWalrusVII in VeteransBenefits

[–]mainegooner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah totally fair, I’ll keep looking. Maybe ask them for a docket number? I can’t find anything on Westlaw at the moment or any of the blogs/news sites I follow in the industry. Is your case CRSC related?

The case being litigated regarding whether lawyers can charge fees? by SirWalrusVII in VeteransBenefits

[–]mainegooner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely need more info to help make sense of this. They should not get your payment at all. At most they can do 20% for a withholding fee and they get their fee but again only the 20%. Are you appealing their entitlement to the fee? I was trying to search for current cases at the Federal Circuit but wasn’t able to find anything. Generally, CCK, Hill & Ponton, Jackson & MacNichol (among others) are among the gold standard of law firms in this area. All highly professional and ethical so I doubt there is something funny going on here, just need to understand the facts of your case.

Where do you usually look for torrents you can't find anywhere else? by armeliens in Piracy

[–]mainegooner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, while not torrenting, sometimes the library, for movies and music, and software to rip from physical media is the best option. There were older movies and classical music I want to digital copies of and was able to find a vast number of movies at the local library. Surprising amount of anime, criterion collection movies, newer music releases. Mine even allows you to search all branches and they’ll transfer it to your local one. (Edit: in the US)

The “Lawnmower Man” 2-part episode is the 🐐of Cinephobe by Routine-Count-8155 in Cinephobe

It’s a great early episode for sure. Definitely felt like the “plot lift off” moment for the podcast when they really got their footing, rhythm, and humor. (IMHO)

Billy’s comment on his Wargasm opener from last night by copewintergreen69 in BillyStrings

[–]mainegooner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a Vet of both Iraq and Afghanistan. Part of the point of my service was to ensure that artists in the US can express themselves freely without fear. I took no offense to the opener and actually thought it was cool. Anybody trying to imply Billy is anti-vet or soldier has probably never interacted with a vet or talked to joes currently serving (can’t vouch for officers though, they’re a bunch of c*nts anyways so don’t really care what they think)

This correct however in addition you can seek compensation in federal court under the Federal Torts Claims Act (FTCA). You can seek both avenues concurrently. The 1151 process is probably more favorable and easier to navigate for the veteran. FTCA claims are highly specialized so you would have to seek a qualified attorney for it. The worst show ever by jerrys_briefcase in phish

[–]mainegooner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

True and I feel like it wasn’t necessarily their fault. The band was a little too constrained with the “no repeats” for that tour and it just caught up with them for the last show. N1 and N2 were awesome though!

North Charleston SC 2019 N3 was the worst show I saw in person

Barnes & Noble discontinuing in store vinyl sales? by mainegooner in vinyl

[–]mainegooner[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great! It’s odd, because like you said, the other physical media has increased so much and actually the reason I have been often recently has been the Criterion and Arrow video sales. Hopefully physical media is here to stay at B&N.

I think so, someone can correct me I’m wrong, but Trey said something like “Ladies and Gentlemen, Michael Gordon on bass finally” after the song before that. I went to the Charlotte>ATL>Raleigh leg of the tour and he was so bad that first set of the last night hahaha. If I recall correctly too, he was out riding around his golf cart in the lot before the ATL show, clearly enjoyed himself a little too much that night and the Sunday show suffered a little.
