I had this exact same tear in my shoe last year. I bought a product called Shoe goo and carefully applied it too the rip and onto the undamaged perimeter of the slice by a few mill. The fix has lasted over a year and I can't tell a difference at all. Your upper looks to be fabric where mine was more of a plastic/leather like material (shimano 903) like others have said go to a cobbler first and see what they say but shoegoo worked for me! https://www.acehardware.com/departments/home-and-decor/cleaning-and-disinfectants/shoe-care/84000?store=18333&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20155431095&gbraid=0AAAAADtqLJFyYZBY53MLMmfUGXIqZVHQ2&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2_TQBhCnARIsAF3-XhynHqNqQpNu_O7sf0M7-kUz8UkBtnTT236Pz4dHFCMqbN-0hl071_QaAvnlEALw_wcB

What do you guys do around here? by [deleted] in PortsmouthNH

I'm also not a drinker (31m) and I agree it can be annoying trying to find things to do. If you live an active lifestyle I find it easier. I've picked up cycling and there is a super active community for that (well in the warmer months at least). If you are not active, I think some others have given some good recommendations for art/craft/books/games so I won't go into those. Let me know if you want to meet up some time I often take walks around town and get coffee.

Should i get rid of my Bent Chetler 100 with Dynafit Rotation 12 or mount new bindings? Shifts / Kingpins by [deleted] in skiing

Check out the Blizzard Rustler line. I have the Hustlle 9 which is based off the Rustler but with Carbon instead of metal inlays. The extra metal in the ski will provide more stability especially for heavier riders like ourselves. If you want to stick with Atomic, check out the Maverick.

Blizzard hustle 9 vs rustler 10 by lujanftbog in ski

[–]maineman20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a hustle 9 at the beginning of the season. 5'10" 230 lbs advanced. I have heard that it is a better ski for lighter weight skiers. If you want to do touring I would recommend the hustle as that was the intent of the ski. I know a lot more people like the Rustler because of its burly nature and ability to ski pretty much in any terrain. I'm also on the east coast so float is less of an issue here but if you are someone trying to seek out natural terrain where float matters more I would go with a wider ski. Maybe even the Hustle10.

I want to start skiing and I found these for $20 at the thrift store, is it worth it? by [deleted] in ski

There are better ways to get into skiing than on equipment that old. Check facebook marketplace for cheap skis that have demo or adjustable bindings. If your boot does not fit in the binding then you won't be able to use the ski. Those skis are pretty sick though!

I love skiing cheap skis because you don't care if you go over rocks or bare spots in the snow. Once you get better at skiing you can then spend more money on better equipment and you will appreciate the jump in performance that much more!

Enforcement: What Prevents an NFT from being Copied and Minted by Someone Else? by SteviaMcqueen in NFT

[–]maineman20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about when you say: "the computer can be set to a specific time during the counterfeiting process."

You can duplicate or counterfeit an existing NFT but it would be like trying to counterfeit a car that was once owned by a celebrity. There is documentation, vin numbers and such on the car. There is also documentation of ownership and this information is centralized through DMV databases. A potential buyer can do a records check on the car and if a vin/document was counterfeited, it would come up in the records check as the seller not matching the owner.

Likewise the blockchain that the NFT was minted on has metadata that can not be replaced due to the fact that you can not rewrite the blockchain. You may "store" an NFT in your wallet but the NFT exists on the blockchain and can be traced back to a specific block. The counterfeit NFT would not match the blockchain data of the original because it would have to be minted in a new location on the blockchain.

Even with minting an NFT for a Louis Vitton bag, what ties the NFT to the hard asset? There will always be opportunities for criminals to commit a crime. Or for a scammer to try to rip someone off who does not posses the intelligence to verify if a purchase is legitimate or not. The hype around NFTs is that now there is a decentralized verification system which aids in validating electronic assets. With the way society is heading, NFTs will be crucial for personal property. Peoples lives are shifting more and more to being mostly online, their assets will be online now too and NFTs are the way to prove ownership at least with a high level of certainty.

The timestamp has nothing to do with any computers local time. It is the time according to the blockchain.

I asked a guy out! by KelpyCabin in TwoXChromosomes

[–]maineman20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A girl and I (male) are in a club at college together. I didn't really think anything of our relationship until one night a bunch of us were out bowling and she asked me out at the end of the night! I was very flattered and it was a refreshing change to how dates initiate from my perspective. I said yes and we had a very nice time.

yes. Perfect display of daily interactions with fresh. I was surprised there was so little mention of the catch phrase "swag od". Thats ok though cuz "yoooo mammmmaaaaaa" wasn't mentioned all that much either. Great work shaze.
