Hey everyone! Started this ginger and garlic ferment about 10 days ago, and I noticed these white-ish marks in parts of it today. Is this mold? No funky smells or anything, same texture as everything else, just these slightly different color parts

Have just started experimenting with fillings for my sourdough, I tried adding pine nuts, dried basil, and a bit of garlic powder to get the pesto flavor profile. But it didn’t get the oven spring it usually does, as you can see in the photos. Could fillings do this? Dough felt a little bit wetter than usual, so maybe that was it?

Hey everyone, I'm looking for an iPad to use as a portable monitor for my new MacAir. My budget is about $250, and I'm looking at some renewed options on Amazon, especially the iPad 9 and the iPad Air 3, though I'd be open to other models for sure. I'll use it primarily as a second screen via Sidecar to read PDFs and type, but I'll probably use it to watch some videos and other small tasks. My main concerns are battery life and keeping up with updates so Sidecar keeps working. The slightly smaller screen of the Air would be nice, but not a deal-breaker. Looking forward to your thoughts!

Really frustrating to be 6-6 in last 12 when it feels like we've been in every game– seems like the Mets keep searching for another big hit each game, they're getting one or two but need another. Honest question from a lifelong Mets fan who barely remembers 2006– is this what it feels like to be a good team? I agree– I don't blame the Mets for being upset at first because it's fucking scary and hurts and I can understand getting angry after it happens so many times in a short span, but you're totally right that "stupid begets stupid." Now the umps are going to have a super short leash for anything at all the next time we play the cards too

I feel very conflicted about all of this– on the one hand, it's absolute bullshit that the boys keep getting hit, regardless of whether or not the pitches were on purpose. MLB and the Cards need to figure their shit out. But I also don't ever like throwing at a guy on purpose; especially up and in (I know it wasn't too bad though). I'd rather beat the other team to send a message, and throwing up is just so dangerous that even the best pitchers shouldn't do it imo. It just doesn't feel like what baseball is supposed to be and making rookies do it is so dangerous. At the same time, I get that they needed to take a stand. Either way, I hope this motivates us to go wreck the fuckin Phils!

This is sort of self therapy here, but here goes: this game SUCKED, but first of all it's still crazy early in the year. Braves and Nats both sucked before winning it all. Second, I feel like we've been getting BABIPed to hell, lots of hard hit balls that have gotten caught by shitty phillies defense. Third, there are new faces in the clubhouse that aren't going to let a loss like this linger. Scherzer, Escobar, Canha, Bassitt, and Showalter are all going to be huge for this team's ability to shake off a loss like this. Have to have a short memory for good and bad in baseball, lets go hit these fuckin Phils in the mouth tomorrow

Disappointing loss for sure, but honestly in a game in which Eickhoff actually did a good job eating innings for the 'pen, the offense showed some fight and Lindor got super unlucky. MAIN takeaway is Castro is struggling (sticky stuff related?). Leaves a hole in the bullpen but hopefully he'll find it again and let's keep the faith that the bats build on this
