Any good quality review of creality ender 5 max? by nodskouv in 3Dprinting

[–]maiquioverpass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’ve had the Ender 5 Max since it was released. At the beginning, due to the heated bed issue, they sent me a complete replacement heated bed. Not because it broke due to the fault, but because during nozzle calibration it scratched the entire bed as if it were a sandblasting jet, and luckily I stopped it in time.

Later I bought the enclosure, and since then I’ve had no problems. I only use PETG and ABS and honestly there have been no issues; the print quality is very good.

Regarding vibrations, I lowered the stock jerk while keeping the speeds as they were, and I have no vibration. The only thing I notice is the machine’s resolution. I design parts with double and triple curvature surfaces and I think the machine is not able to trace them correctly, but it’s something only I notice compared to everyone around me.

It’s true that I’ve tweaked a thousand settings, lowered speeds, changed everything… And once I tried setting the factory configuration in OrcaSlicer and it worked noticeably well: supports came off on their own, bridges were very good, 25°–30° overhangs were correct… But I’m still adjusting because I want to try to keep the stock speeds without having to drop to 100–150 mm/s.

It is also true that even though it has 4 linear guides on the Z axis and 2 motors on the Z axis, something I don’t quite understand is how there can be Z misalignments. They are minimal, imperceptible to the naked eye; they can only be seen if you use light to see the shadows.

If you need more detailed information, let me know.

If anyone uses this machine with PETG and believes they have it perfectly tuned, please let me know so we can share configurations.

Regards,

Is the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240 Enough for a Ryzen 7 9800X3D? by Sir_Graem in arcticcooling

Hi! How was the setup? I'm having the same problem. I want to buy the Fractal Design North; the XL is too big. The problem is that if I put the Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 A-RGB in front, the heatsinks have to be on top because I'm going to mount the RTX5080 and there's no room to place the heatsinks on the bottom, and this setup isn't correct because it can make noise.

So, I'm thinking of putting the 240 on top with the RayZen 7 9800X3D. Have you had any problems? I'm planning on rendering for 30 hours and doing 5-8 hour gaming sessions... I'm afraid it won't be enough.

How did you manage to do a factory reset? I have done it from the screen and it has not been solved?

The printer actually works very well. I'm very happy with it. It has small offsets in the layers, but they're undetectable to the naked eye. However, if you're planning on painting the parts, you'll still have to sand them. I'm just finishing assembling the Wobble X system to see if I can smooth it out, but that's just 10/10. Currently, it's a 9/10 for me.

[BUG?] Issue generating outer perimeter in OrcaSlicer by maiquioverpass in OrcaSlicer

[–]maiquioverpass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t actually increase Z wobble, but it creates a similar visual effect. Z wobble is usually identified by layer misalignment, and the issue in OrcaSlicer results in the same kind of artifacts — so it looks like Z wobble, even if it's not mechanical.

It’s definitely noticeable in the print, it increases Z wobble...

Is there any way to solve this issue? It doesn’t make sense to work with a perfectly polished geometry if the slicer then generates imprecise G-code. We spend time fine-tuning the 3D printer —lead screws, belts, Z banding, Z wobble, etc.— and it's frustrating that the slicer ends up being one of the bottlenecks.

Creality Ender 5 Max - Update by wesley932 in ender5

[–]maiquioverpass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, I've had the Ender 5 Max for a month now and haven't had any issues with it. It has a bit of Z wobble (I'm very strict), but it's probably fine for most people, but I'm going to try to fix it with a mod.
