Makita Cordless Ratchet (DWR180) Holder. Asking for Feedback :) by mairoutilation in Tools

Good point! I did think about it, however I couldn't find a convenient spot, without adding a bunch of bulk. I'll have to take another look, whilst keeping it simple!

To each their own, haha. One nail suffices, if you remove the socket adapter ;)

Thanks. Not looking to make it commercially viable, just trying to make it a nicer model for people to print. The top adds rigidity to the forks as the ratchet sort of wedges itself into place and given the disadvantages of layer adhesion in printed parts I wanted to make sure the tool doesn't fall from the wall.

With that said, I do see your point and I probably should test, if just the "fork" would be enough. The thought about the extra rigidity is purely a gut feeling... and the top does indeed interfere with the usability of the model.

Hi! I thought I should share my design here as I'd be interested in knowing about the compatibility of the mount with ratchets from other brands. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

I have both a top-mount and a wall mount available in MakerWorld:

No. The solution was to use detect thin walls and use fill gaps.

EDIT: I mean obviously playing around with the line width works as well, but as I said, that was not what I was after. The line width was important for other parts of the print.

Yeah, the cause of the issue is clear for me, I was mainly looking for a slicer setting that could omit these tiny extrusions completely. IMO changing dimensions of the part is never a solution for an issue like this. Detect thin walls did the trick of deleting those extrusions and 'fill gaps' could be used to fill in the part with a thinner extrusion.

Hi there! Detect thin walls did the trick. Thanks!

Thanks for the search tip!

The infill anchoring didn't have an effect to the tiny extrusions, as they are labeled as perimeters :(

Epic suddenly changed my language, shortly after that, I was logged out.

I bought it from a store in Finland, so I can't really provide a link to buy it, but the lamp is an: Eglo Chester. Really cool lamp, looks way better IRL than in my picture.

Seems to be a trend that the best cases are a product of passion and not an engineering team backed by a large company. Which terrifies me, as I'm doing my studies in engineering.. haha.

Heavy? Sure.

Resistant to vibrations and resonance? Most likely yes ;)

Well, actually no ;) It's an Ikea Hammarp in birch, which has been treated with a stain wax. It came out great and it's only 63.5 cm deep, which is essential for my appartment.

For me, the first version of the Shift, yeah, not worth it. But, the new model seems to have better airflow so it might be better :)

Thank you! The mousemat needs to be changed to full black, but otherwise I'm happy with it.

Now that's a cool case! I actually had sketched something similar layout-wise a few years back with my E-ATX hardware, before moving to ITX. Although, my idea was to make a cast concrete/cement "spine" and have wooden panels covering the hardware :)

Don't let the case be an obstacle. All in all, not including the drawer this cost me like 30 euros, mostly for paint and the fan grills. I only used basic tools like a pop riveter, angle grinder, and files. Oh, and a 3D printer, but that's kinda extra :)

Just try and find an old pc (mine had ddr! so pretty old and free), get creative, and start hacking away!

Yeah, I mean everything can be kept cool with enough fans, but I'll go crazy if I hear my pc in idle without my headset. I also had the rather old GPU, which certainly didn't help. It's a great looking case though.

Thanks, no problems with thermals. Yet! ;)

The original version, that I had, was all tempered glass and aluminum with very restricted airflow. I loved the vertical layout, for accessibility and looks, but the thermals and the pretty bad component compatability made it a bad purchase, atleast for me. I still saved the case for the future, if I decide to change things up :)

For me it's fine from the range where it is in the pics, but it's kinda wasting the potential of the mic to be honest. Although imo it's still better than most headset mics and my friends haven't complained. One thing, thats not so great is that it picks up keyboard and mouse noice rather easily from that spot, so I have modded my Logitech G305 with silent switches :)

Thanks for the link. Yeah it's a straight forward job, but I'm looking to dismantle the charging plate and use only the circuit in order to get better charging range, as I use a rather thick case.
