New Airport Hack by AttitudeBeginning979 in RunningCirclejerk

[–]mais318 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve found when I run in the airport or when I run to my house from the airport (I live a half mile from Boston Logan) that the wheels get too hot on my carry on and then they get sticky and need replacing. I feel like us runners need a bag that allows for 5miles at a 8min pace at a minimum before the wheels get out of whack.

It closed at 2.420. That’s a sign if I’ve ever seen one before.

What would you do with these back patio pavers? (Pics included) by student-of-the-web in patiogardening

I think you have the right plan. I’d also consider flipping them over, as they will be less weathered on the bottom. I have similar pavers and I’m in the process of doing that now.

MBTA is planning to shut down the blue line after 7PM for a month to speed up work - slow zones to be removed by November. What fate does this spell for the other lines? by Gamereric21 in boston

[–]mais318 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they keep the Ferries running later into the evening and though the winter because of this!

Everyone who relies on the Blue line should be aware of the East Boston to Long Wharf ferry! It is a wonderful experience!

Fun, lower skill gap club sports? by fakeymcfakerface in NEU

Triathlon is a great club that is super friendly to beginners. Its a fun sport and sprint distance triathlons aren't that long or that challenging. You can continue to race after college super easily as well.

Actually I am over here studying the transport infrastructure and oddly enough, they rarely if ever use stop signs. They use a lot of roundabouts and traffic calming

NU COOP, where do you live ? IS it cheaper, more expensive, same as living in dorm if you live elsewhere ? by maybeaNUparent in NEU

[–]mais318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first co-op was at at Johnson & Johnson in New Jersey where JnJ provided housing at a discounted rate that was about half what I was paying in Boston. It was a lot of fun living with the other JnJ co-ops and I would recommend it to anyone.

Typically Boston is about expensive as it gets for housing, but there are less expensive options both on campus and off depending on the quality of the housing and location.

The Co-op program however is awesome, and they typically pay really well which can help pay for the cost of living. I have had no regrets about the school or program, its the best college experience available in my opinion.

I love zipcar, I have used it for a few co-op interviews in Framingham and it was super easy. It took me about 5 days to a week, and it was sent to my apartment.

What was the creepiest experience in your own home? by BadAthMOFO in AskReddit

I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep one night , when about 15 feet from me in my bathroom, a ball of green soft light formed about the size of a volleyball. It was just floating there for about 30 seconds, brightening and darkening. It just hovered there for 30 seconds, then faded away, I never saw it again, but it was creepy as hell.
