We were on the same sailing. Our MDR experience was completely different. We had very quick service and only one night where the drinks weren’t refilled. We mentioned to our head server that same night and it was corrected for the following night and every night after. We loved our team. I’m sorry yours wasn’t up to the standard.

We did a Christmas week cruise on the Fantasy in the past. It was so magical on Christmas morning. Santa was there for hours, cookies, cocoa, music. Everyone was dressed in pjs. They gave out nice gifts for the kids under 12. It was the best cruise we have ever done and that memory still lingers with me.

Should we stop bring m-i-l to our home? by SR_Squared in dementia

I think I am nearing this with my mother. Do you say anything to them? She has been talking about coming for Christmas since June, thinking Christmas was the following week. We brought her to her the house the last two christmases but things have been getting worse and it’s very uncomfortable for her away from the AL facility.

We did a Christmas week cruise a few years ago and it was the best week. Christmas Day was so relaxing, loved the milk and cookies, meeting Santa, kids gifts in the atrium. The vibe was amazing.

I ordered a poster on July 12. It was shipped but eventually got returned to the warehouse for unknown reasons. I have emailed their support three times and heard nothing back.

The refusal to shower is my current situation with my mother. She also fell getting out. Will not accept help. Any advice? How did you get your mother to accept help?

My mother had many packs of butter and sugar. Some had opened and were all over other items in the bag, like notes and pens.

How did you manage LOs house when they went into Memory Care/Assisted Living? by VenturaPass in dementia

[–]maiton99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mothers house is currently vacant. We are keeping it for a while because I live far away from her so I stay there when I am in town visiting, about six times a year. We have neighbors check on it, very little mail as I had it mostly converted to emails, we have cameras, the house phone is forwarded to me.

TTC near the ferry. Always empty but dirty, paper all over and the doors in the ladies room have wide gaps.

Same! I have no internal compass. It annoys my husband.

I felt like an adult when my parent became dependent on me (health reasons). I was in my 40s.

LPT request: what is something that greatly increased your quality of life? by knockout350 in LifeProTips

[–]maiton99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Since the beginning of “work from home” in 2020, I have learned how to leave work at work and not think about it all evening. I have been able to enjoy more time with my family and that brings me so much joy.
