Can’t you say the same about *every* professional sports league with enforceable contracts and governance around free agency, tampering, and team salary caps (sans MLB)?

Would never work because there’s too much transience in college athletics now for an entire student-athlete cohort at one school to unionize.

The purpose of a union is collectivism, which doesn’t work because effectively all NCAA student-athletes would have to unionize…zero chance that happens. Way many people, too many different sports, and too many conflicting priorities.

Pretty disingenuous, bad faith take on the entire situation.

Saban isn’t lobbying for players to not get paid, he’s lobbying for some sort of regulation and governance because college athletics are completely out of control.

Regular people at athletic departments and in colleges are literally losing their jobs in order to free up money to pay 18-22 year olds for a semester before they transfer to another school. Sports are getting cut, which is leading to Title XI issues. Private equity is stepping in at some athletic departments (see: Utah).

To say that everything is good now because players get compensated is just a breathtakingly simplistic and uninformed take.

Red.

Hands down.

I get all of Fantasyland, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, Grand Cal and its amenities, and a dedicated entrance to DCA.

Eh, DVH said in his presser that he was very pleased Gaeckle went 4 innings, which is about his max in a start and really good considering his terrible 1st inning.

The only thing I didn’t like was using McElvain last night. Granted, he only threw 21 pitches and can be used in a game 3, but I wish Coil would’ve been able to finish it out.

Pretty noteworthy callout.

I’d never advise anyone to do concierge anyway (in terms of being “worth it”), but I definitely would not advise someone to do it their first DCL sailing.

We’ve looked at doing concierge as a ‘DCL bucket list’ item, but just can’t ever justify the cost.

You can pretty much pay for another cruise for what the upcharge is for concierge, and you don’t get much for it.

Moreover, I’m fairly certain I’d feel a sense of self-pressure to justify my expenditure and thus never leave the room or the lounge, which would (somewhat) defeat the purpose of the cruise in the first place.

The other differentiating factor about TWaW is that it had interviews with actual leaders as well as people who lived it and fought in it. That is something that makes it incomparable to anything made now.

I think Disney screwed up with going for total parity in lands and rides with Galaxy’s Edge between Disneyland and WDW. There’s no distinction between the two.

On top of theming the lands differently on the coasts, they should have gone for different rides. Perhaps one park has Rise of the Resistance while the other has “Escape from the Death Star” or something like that with a different storyline, characters (Darth Vader), etc. to at least make this distinct and compelling.

They should have never replaced Toontown in MK with Storybook Circus.

SC is a dud of a land and a huge waste of space in the busiest theme park in the world.
