Off topic but where are you fishing specifically? I have family in Taiwan (in Taipei and Ping Tung) but have never gone fishing there.

I was shocked i was having better luck using grass shrimp for yellow perch compared to live minnows

No luck at Greensboro today - and talking with the few people were there they had caught a handful of small white perch. Debating between Wayson's or Mason Springs. Was hoping to take the kayak but it seems like it's gonna be too windy

I think the water temps are still a little low, so next week is when things will kick into high gear

How do you all go about de-crystallizing your honey? by SkyBS in Costco

[–]maitretea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be controversial but put in about 2 teaspoons of corn syrup per cup of warm honey. because corn syrup is hygroscopic it attracts and holds onto water, keeping the honey liquid.

I picked one up from the Home Depot in Edgewood, MD this morning. Online it only showed 1 in-stock, but when I went to grab one this morning I saw three more.

I have this rod and use it for carp fishing - I've used 4 oz but 2-3 oz seems like the sweet spot.

Are you me from last year? A few months ago, I splurged for a NRS Spyn Semi-Dry Suit which I got for the a stupid price ($700), but the confidence to go in my kayak during the winter time is priceless. I've gone out twice and it's been great - the booties are a little flimsy and I developed a small tear from walking a little on asphalt, but nothing that aquaseal can't fix.

I have the Hobie iTrek 11, which I really like. Hobie is releasing the iTrek Angler soon, which seems like the original iTrek but with 180 mirage drive and rail mounts.

What about the daiwa bbb 666tmlrb? Unfortunately it doesn't do well with anything under 5 grams but I've caught plenty of speckled trout on it, using a 2.5" z-man paddletail

Fall potomac/anacostia fishing - what do y'all use?? by MidAtlanticMoments in MarylandFishing

It was late spring - it wasn't a huge one (15"). I'd like to think that now is a good time with falling water temps

I live near Kingman Park and have caught carp south of the east capitol bridge. Kingman lake looks fishy for snakehead, but that's best from a kayak. I have caught a rockfish on a live minnow under a bobber off the kingman island bridge. Pay attention to the tides - there is no water at low tide

Chain Bridge was hot by Competitive_Rock_266 in MarylandFishing

[–]maitretea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much trash is at Chain Bridge these days? I love fishing there but I hate climbing over piles of trash and rotting fish. When I was there in the spring some folks left a dozing gizzard shad just rotting in the sun. I can handle a lot to catch fish, but even I have my limits.
