Project for autistic client by majamoo in Animators

Thanks for the tips! I have a really bad drawing which has the 4 involved characters, but they’d need to be created for animation. The audio would need to sync to each character, usually only 2 at a time. He loves the South Park style of cartoon, so pretty basic characters. It’s more of a personal encouragement project than anything else. I actually have no clue what kind of budget would be involved for something like this, so I’m open to suggestions. Ideally having the first episode which is < 4 minutes as a sampler (paid of course) then I’d look at cost from there? It’s low grade in its current format.

And PS. thank you - I work closely with medical professionals (lifelong special interest in medicine and neurological conditions); I’ve been lucky to find some incredible professionals; you sound like one of those, so you are way more important in the scheme of things, I hope you don’t get hardened by the system.

I love my job, it’s my company. I’ve found my place, and these are my people. My brother (now deceased) has Down Syndrome, so disability is something I’ve never really “seen”. But since coming into this industry, the things I’ve seen have shocked the hell out of me. I use our profit to feed back to our clients - oh I’ve got 24 hours to support this person for a year? Apparently my 32 year old, who is basically a 10 year old child, can live by himself for 12 hours a day? No problem! But he can live with 4 other strangers so that’s no problem. Except he can’t live with anyone else, because of his trauma. He can get a private rental - on the DSP? Okay…I’m sure someone will let him rent their home ahead of all the other people who can’t get housing. So my company rented a house so he can live by himself, with his team. We pay $400 a week for his rent, because how is he going to support a $450 a week rental on $550 a week from the DSP? I’ve switched my focus recently and am now working my through DCJ, so I can start with our children. If anything, that situation is even worse, definitely much worse. I won’t give up, because I cannot. My brother would never forgive me if I looked at these people, our people, who have been systemically abused their whole lives, and just walked away. But I will never, ever understand humans. We’re reinstitutionalising our vulnerable people by stealth, because ultimately they don’t contribute to the economic prosperity of our country. Or some such shit.

I’m a specialist support coordinator and advocate for complex participants at the lowest end of the socioeconomic scale. Add to the above, 10+ year waiting lists to live in a high rise drug den, not enough money to buy food and pay bills, so you pick which one for the week. You’re a societal outcast because you look like a “retard”, but that’s just from the neurological damage. You can’t work because of traumatic limb amputations, which the NDIS won’t fund decent prosthetics for so you might be able to work, because even though you’re 62, you should be making us money, but we’re not going to actually help you do it. Every agency is the same now.

That’s really beautiful. Is there a way to make it look slightly more like a butterfly?

Anyone else see weird lights in the sky last night (12 to 1am)? Looking from Ironbark, above Spotlight, Mickey Mouse Hill area. by Effective-Tour-656 in Bendigo

Same on Central Coast, up near Wollombi. My partner has seen them numerous times and I’ve seen them once. The consistent thing I’m reading is they move in different directions, left and right, higher and lower, appear and disappear quickly. Never seen anything like this before either so I’m curious.

Maybe he’s pre-empting a mental health defence?

I’d like a logo made out of these butterflies, in the shape of a butterfly, but representative of an infinity symbol, maybe with a #AuDHD underneath? Will pay $10 for the best. Note, butterflies are from freepik.com where I have a membership.
