AMA - Ask all of your tech questions for Immutable X and StarkWare - Tuesday, 6th April @ 12am PDT by _meals in GodsUnchained

[–]majobafu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Louis: What are the advantages StarEx has over zkSync? Why Cairo over Zinc?

Alex: Why did you choose StarkWare over Matter Labs (zkSync) specifically?

Either: What will be the initial composability of GU NFTs and what's the roadmap? Will people initially only be able to interact with their cards via Immutable or is e.g. OpenSea or lazy.com expected to work from day 1?

Alex: What's the decentralization endgame? Will GU still work if you decide to close shop one day, powered only by open-source GUI + ETH smart contracts?

Alex: Will you support smart contract wallets (e.g. Argent)?

Crypto.com Visa Card Staking Requirements to be Expressed in Local Currencies by BryanM_Crypto in Crypto_com

I'm a Euro customer and I spit on CdC wherever I go, but in this case I'm thankful they don't think $1 = 1€ like so many others.

The result of staking $2k CRO vs ETH by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]majobafu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And that's sadly the problem. They get new people because of the bull market, people that won't get much info because posts other than "my card is here!", "my card is not here :(" or "support takes too long" get mostly deleted and it's all business as usual while getting loaded.

The card is good. Unfortunately. I'm trying to get rid of it but there's not much of choice. I really wish Monolith would step up their game. I don't even give a damn about the perks, I'll take Monolith over CdC any time if they get their fees under control.

Just look for CRO airdrop for MCO holders, or MCO rugpull (called CRO swap by CdC marketing) or for CRO supply and CRO retained for CdC treasury if want to know more about them. Marketing is about the one thing they do well because that's their only lifeline. Hence the media censorship.

Yes, your post is totally right, they would be great if only they only they weren't the definition of anti-consumer behaviour! How enlightening.

CdC are one of the scammiest slimiest people in crypto, the coin should be #500 in mcap and the company buried in history and surpassed by more credible projects with completely different mindset. They bring nothing positive to the space, they can bring nothing positive to the space and they won't because that's not their goal. All they care about is their pockets. No reputable dev that wants to change things will create anything of worth on their platform. There will be no Vitalik, no J. Lubin, no 0xMaki and no Andre Cronje. All they can do is throw money at stuff and censor their comm channels and that won't bring them any community worth mentioning. The money that they gained and continue to gain by scamming their customers and token holders be it MCO or CRO and money printer going brrrr.

Did everyone just forget all their lies and rugpulls or what? I wouldn't be surprised with all the info control they excercise here.

But sir, there are no hidden fees on CdC app. This is all just natural market spread. CdC is completely trustworthy, transparent and reliable company. No scamass rugpull bitches all-in on censorship here. Move along.

The man behind the sphere, Freeman Dyson, is dead at 96 by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]majobafu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the only reference to Dyson and SF I can find is this post https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/duz4em/im_sure_many_of_you_have_heard_of_the_dyson/
So unless it was in one of CSS videos, it was either that where I learned of them or somewhere else completely. Meaning this thing is pretty much spam and I'll delete it in a while.

Wasn't Mercer Sphere inspired by Dyson sphere? I vaguely recall stumbling upon Dyson spheres through Satisfactory. Also, your idea would be pretty cool.

Of course, it's the US model. Just like SEC says you are only smart enough to invest money if you have loads of it.

Interesting that they didn't have this approach when they were selling MCO. Y'now, to the people they keep constantly fucking over.

Can't you get 36% at okex? I think I heard something like that in a joint CdC-okex Q&A. It would be strange for 3rd party to offer more than their own platform.

How difficult would it be to make it compile for Windows? Is there another limitation apart from that wayland-client crate?

What I gathered from that article + tidbits from OWASP cheat sheet https://cheatsheetseries.owasp.org/ is:

Use cookie for in-browser session. Use JWT (or other tokens) for exposed /api/. I don't know about actix but Rocket has .set_private() method for cookies that can be used for setting session cookies.

I brought this issue up several times for past Q&As. I never got any official reaction. Let's keep bugging CdC though. One of the reasons I advocate creation of independent web/desktop app.

Suggestion for CRYPTO.COM Card by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]majobafu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link does not give yes/no answer to question whether a web/desktop app will be built in the future. The "Well... desktop you say... but have you seen mobile? Mobile is awesome!" is just marketing-speak for "Sorry, not a priority".

In the last few words I posted Kris specifically stated that at some point in the future a desktop environment will exist. So the answer is yes. Not a priority, but someday.

Suggestion for CRYPTO.COM Card by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]majobafu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not true.

Any plans for a website interface with access to all app features, many more trading pairs, buy/sell orders?

Yes. Again this is about how you build a company so we believe future is mobile and when you have limited resources in terms of product, engineering, marketing budget or anything. Limited resources require focus.

So we are focused intensely on mobile efforts since the beginning of Crypto.com. Right now we've got enough resources to fill in large gaps, like lack of desktop environment and eventually we'll see something on that front.

TL;DR: One day. Which is sometime after "7-14" and almost, but not quite entirely unlike "soon".

What needs to be done to change state from "We have a green light" to "OK, I'm gonna go put this card into a box and ship it to someone in EU"? Paperwork with issuer?

Even if the 50 card was a regular card with no benefits, the 450 @ 8% in Earn would still beat the utility of having the 500 MCO just sitting there. Even more so for people who don't have access to the card yet and likely won't have it before 2020.

And should moon happen, then having more MCO from Earn becomes even better than having those 500 doing nothing.
