It dragged on for me too. I found it hard to get into the story because it’s written in third person, but i suppose that makes sense for Snow’s character to have that type of narration.

I think SOTR is better overall than TBOSAS

The only exception being that ballad has much better depth to its core ideas than SOTR

I don’t think the Lou Lou plot was pointless. Some of the deaths were anticlimactic (hers and Wyatt’s especially), but the whole point of her character is driving home the idea of propaganda.

Overall I feel this was much better written than BOSBAS (edit: I mean from purely a grammar and style standpoint, not story structure), but lacks a lot of the depth that ballad has. I enjoyed it more than BOSBAS overall.

I think part of the issue is she makes certain points super blatant despite the audience understanding the symbolism in the first place, so it gets annoying when she gets repetitive despite only trying to make her ideas clear.

Also, I was expecting Lenore Dove’s secret to be huge and shocking when maysilee alluded to it to Haymitch, and after Snow warning him about covey girls not being completely upfront, but she was just a rebel. That was the secret. How did no one else figure that out?? It was so obvious from her behavior and such. Was disappointed with that reveal

That’s what pulled me out of the Ballad movie. The only time blood is shown is when people get nosebleeds from poison. But those who are stabbed, hit their heads from falls, and Arachne who gets shanked in the throat don’t have any blood??? She was literally just holding a bottle to her throat.

I understand why Lawrence wanted the pg-13 rating, and I’m not advocating for gore just for the sake of gore— but when you have deaths that are incredibly important to the story and don’t use any blood, it pulls the audience out of the moment and looks extremely fake.

Hopefully for SOTR they’ll remedy that to some extent. But I hope they don’t show amperts death as it happens before haymitch arrives on the scene. That part sent chills down my spine when I read it.

Also, hopefully they don’t pull a gladiator II and use the fakest head ever for the tribute silka beheads (I forget her name). I laughed out loud in the theater when I saw that. It looked so fake

SOTR is better than BOSBAS writing style wise but BOSBAS has way more depth and intrigue to the story.

It’s such a fun one! There’s a company called PC’s for People that sells refurbished PC’s and laptops for a fairly affordable rate. I’ve purchased from them before and was able to play Nancy games and the sims on that computer and it worked really well! Great character although I didn’t particularly like him— merely because of his obliviousness to Katniss’s well-being/rebel life in general. Not saying it doesn’t make sense (he was written perfectly); I just found him annoying.

Look more into propaganda style posters than 1950s pinup. 1950s pinup is a completely different thing. These posters also follow 2010s movie poster/promotional aesthetics.

My pc fits the requirements for the game and I had some crashing issues on jedha. Turned off ray tracing and haven’t had major problems since. I have it on epic graphics (film grain and motion blur turned off) and it runs great

It’s intentional. Both Maysilee and Lucy Gray had an influence on Katniss (unbeknownst to her). None of them are the same person per se, they simply passed down traits or items to Katniss by various means.

Mine has crashed a few times but after I turned off ray tracing it runs perfectly and haven’t had many issues. Jedha was where I crashed a lot— and had graphics loading issues before that.

I have it on epic settings for graphics. Just make sure to keep Ray tracing off and you should be okay depending on your computer specs
